  1. It is high risk and on the face of things expensive -but what was the appointment of Useless Sack of Shit Grant ? and all the other hangers on ? Personally I think Lampard would be quite happy to sign for a four year deal. The thing is, these players entrust their careers to agents whose task is to get the 'best deal'. The reality is the 'best deal' doesnt neccesarily have to be money orientated. Its not like they have to sign on the dole when they finish playing. I understand players have a short career, but they're all multi millionaires several times over, and it's not like he'd be out of a job. The other mitigating factor could be the loss of his mum, and a complete change of scenery is required. But how much does one extra year cost against the tens of millions the board will spend on trying to find a replacement ?
  2. Well the six out have to be; Steve Sidwell Shaun Wright-Phillips Claude Makelele Tal Ben Haim Claudio Pizarro Florent Malouda Though personally would like Claude to stay and Malouda given more time. Not sure youth players will replace them, -more likely there will be some star additions... but one or two may be given a chance
  3. ..and the offer from Inter seems derisory for a 20 goal a season man, a midfielder at that. He wouldn't last five years tbh, and its only his agent Steve Kunter, who's angling for it...but the club owe it to him...and its not like they cant afford it. Will PM you Steve
  4. Be good if they do come through. Liked the sound of Big Balls Phil. Takes no prisoners -and feel confident of the league already.
  5. ...and now his agent has alluded to the idea he may be going. Some media are saying the agents had a falling out with Kenyon. Kenyon offering 4 years and they want 5. Inter are prepared to give him five years. Give him a five year contract you tight fisted cunts, hes deserves it.
  6. It wont be the end of the world if he goes....both sides are haggling over the wage I suspect. Negotiating, I think they call it.
  7. Wouldnt want him to go -but if it comes to it the midfield would develop with a new identity. Maybe not one with an indivudual goalscorer -in fact no way can he be replicated -but with more direct playmakers such as Deco , Arshavin and another decent winger - more chances would be created for attackers...
  8. Arshavin has been banned from training with the rest of the Zenit St Petersburg squad while he sorts out where he will play next season. Zenit manager Dick Advocaat claims a deal for Arshavin should be concluded this week and the playmaker’s agent, Dennis Lachter, believes it is “most likely” he will end up at Chelsea or Arsenal -though this is dependent on whether Hleb or Lampard clear off. They (Arsenal or Chelsea) need to better the £12million bid Zenit last night rejected from Barcelona. Express News
  9. Hate to put the dampers on things, but this will not be the start of continuity of a Chelsea/Scolari era. He's admitted he wants to retire in 4 or 5 years time max, and one of the main reasons for taking the job was the cash -let's just hope he can win the league and give purple nose a hard time....
  10. Well I know he met JT and his mates in a West End restaurant after the CL. He was hardly fluent, but he spoke eloquently enough to leave an impression on him, allegedly. Too many foreigners are ruining the game though.....
  11. Really ? All the media say he cant speak English. We shall see. Theres an interview with him on Chelsea TV at 12:00 btw
  12. The begging of desperate man in the twilight of his career....
  13. They'll repeat it BB any way. The Gene Hackman lookalike cant speak English so it wont be ground breaking, though will be better than Grants -where he pretended he couldnt speak English.
  14. ''Chelsea FC insist they have not received a faxed offer for Frank Lampard'' ITN News. Who uses a fax nowadays anyway ? Well I do at work, but Frank should be on e bay nowadays with a reserve price.
  15. Looks as though Fat Franks off http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/7482773.stm
  16. This is good news, and to have some continuity with ex players can only be good. Who knows, could be Chels manager in a few years, ..or offered the Scotland job.....
  17. The club will have to field a second string against Sunderland on 24/5 (when the leagues won) as the CL Final is 3 days later.
  18. AC seem very keen to get him they've told him he can earn a total of €9m-per-season over four years with them, if Barcelona lower their asking price of around €40m ...
  19. Would love it - not least to see your backflips. Who'd a thought back in the 2004-5 season CL battles, the nemesis of-Deco, Goofy, and Eto'o would be lining up as Chelsea players ?? hunbeleefable
  20. So it could be auf wiedershen to the two World Cup finalists tonight if Romania win; CLEAR AS MUD - The Netherlands have won Group C and will play the Group D runners-up in the quarter-finals. Romania will qualify for the quarter-finals if they beat the Netherlands, eliminating France and Italy. If Romania fail to beat the Netherlands, the winner of France v Italy will go through. If France and Italy draw, a point against the Netherlands would be enough to send Romania through. France must win to have any chance of qualifying. If France and Italy share a score draw (1-1, 2-2, 3-3 etc), Italy will go through if Romania lose (by any score). In this scenario, Italy, Romania and France will be level on two points each but Italy would have scored more goals in games between the 3 teams. Romania will finish bottom of the group if they lose and France and Italy draw 2-2, 3-3 or 4-4. France will finish bottom if they draw 1-1 unless Romania lose 3-0 or by a four-goal margin. If France and Italy draw 0-0, Romania can lose by one goal, two goals or by a three-goal margin other than 3-0 but still qualify. In this scenario, Italy and Romania would have identical head-to-head records, but Romania would have better goal difference in ALL group matches or, in the case of the three-goal defeats, goals scored. France would finish bottom, having scored fewer goals head-to-head v Italy and Romania. If Romania lose 3-0 to the Dutch, Italy would qualify with a 0-0 draw against France because of their superior coefficient points. France would finish bottom as they would have scored fewer goals head-to-head v Italy and Romania. If Romania lose by four goals or more and the other game ends 0-0, Italy would proceed with a better overall goal difference than Romania. France would finish bottom as they would have scored fewer goals head-to-head v Italy and Romania. If France and Italy draw AND Romania avoid defeat, then Romania go through. BBC
  21. God knows, so he can do keepy uppy on a Brazilian beach for glossy Nike adverts 'spose, instead of playing away at Doncaster on a rainy October night....
  22. Ballack and Cole are definite playmakers, there are several creatives, though another would be good if Lampard leaves.....
  23. Would hate to see him go -the team just dont play the same when hes not there. One crucial factor, probably being omitted, is going to be whether he feels he needs to get away after his Mothers death.....
  24. I'm sure SW6 and the cash have a bigger pull than rainy Madchester if he is to come to the UK. Citeh have offered him a contract whereby the sponsors are allowed to pull him out of Carling games though.....big girl
