Michel Platini clamps down on clubs in debt
Fulham Broadway replied to the wes's topic in Football Chat
You're probably right, unless they had a dip in form, but whoever took it on would have to plug the £600 000 000 +interest hole left by the Glazers. Until that happened the club would be owned by creditors and banks, who wouldn't hang about before stripping the assets and selling them off. ie the name, players etc. -
'That goal' at Anfield. It was the linesman that gave it though

£17m on naked 'Big Sue' paintingMay 19 2008 By Will Payne Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich has been revealed as the man who spent £17million on a painting of a naked JobCentre worker known as Big Sue. The Russian billionaire paid £17.2million - the highest price for a work by a living artist - for Lucien Freud's Benefits Supervisor Sleeping. And the next day, he splashed out £44.1million on another painting, Tryptch by Francis Bacon. Both works were auctioned last week. Abramovich was named as the buyer of the paintings by The Art Newspaper in London. Editor Cristina Ruiz said: "I'm very impressed by his choices. He has gone in at the highest level but these are good purchases and I think they will hold their value." It's believed Abramovich got his new-found love of art from model girlfriend, Daria "Dasha" Zhukova, 25. Daria recently revealed that she is set to open a contemporary art gallery inMoscow. A spokesman for Abramovich refused to discuss his boss's purchases, saying: "We do not comment on personal matters." The model for Freud's painting, Sue Tilley, was paid just £25 a day for posing. She gave ITN presenter Katie Derham a telling-off last week for calling her "Fat Sue". That would have bought Messi and Ribery. Oh well.

Would prefer 442 but it doubt it'll happen. ManUtd 6/4 favourites to win. Chelsea at 21/10. Ronaldo favourite as first goalscorer at 9/2. Drogs 13/2. Best bet is Ballack at 10/1 as first goalscorer -lump on

Vidic accuses Drogba over diving
Fulham Broadway replied to middleoftheshed's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Rooney saying Drogba loses it ? HA HA HA!! Who said irony is dead. Red Faced Pikey has a tantrum every game. Anyway I thought ManUtd 'only talk about ManUtd' ? Vidic, Drogba is going to make you look (more) foolish now. -
Chelseas Biggest Game Ever

Even though we beat Bolton 4-3 , we still went down. All pretty important. Of course there was also the 1970 FA Cup replay. But for me the most important would be another Bolton game (they seem to figure in our important games). Not the League win, but the 1983 game. Clive Walkers late strike ensuring a 0-1 win that stopped the slide into Div 3, and staved off certain bankruptcy. This CL game is probably the clubs most prestidgious to date so far -
..on Weds ? or have there been more important ones ????

Michel Platini clamps down on clubs in debt
Fulham Broadway replied to the wes's topic in Football Chat
Source ????? Couple of points there - nice we dont owe any money at all, unlike the other Big Three. From that perspective, bring it on Platini -it'd mean Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal would be banned from Europe till they sort out their finances. Man Utd . OK Club is worth £919 000 000 allegedly, but the Glazers borrowed to buy it and owe £551 000 000. They're on a 'Buy to Let' Old Trafford trip, if they cut and run the club could be well and truly fucked. -
Grant was in it for the £4.5 million a year nothing else. He should do the honourable thing afetr the CL and fuck off or top himself, he'll bring nothing new. 'Next level' my arse.

Welcome Steve ! Glad to have you joining in the talk. There are a few Germans here Diskoviolente is the only one that springs to mind at the moment, but I think there are others.

New Manager Search, Summer 2008
Fulham Broadway replied to changingman2000's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well another possible is free now; MADRID, May 16 (Reuters) - Getafe coach Michael Laudrup announced on Friday he will leave the Primera Liga side at the end of the season. -
Would like the underdog theme to continue in this competition, and see Hasselbaink score. Realistically it's Pompeys' to lose, and can only see it going one way. But as the late Ally Mcleod said after Scotlands 1978 World Cup exit ''Football's strange''.
-
Yup, Grants apeing of Mourinho against Ferguson before this match not a good idea -probably lead to Ronaldo celebrating in front of the undertaker now "We were without question the best team in the country this season and all Chelsea's players have been honest and admitted that," said Ferguson. "So we're going to Moscow as the best team in the Premier League and the best side in the country. "But I half expected him to come out with something like this. What he said isn't about last Sunday and us winning the title, it's all about next Wednesday and the European Cup Final''
-
Thought most of the players could still cut it - Chelsea contingent included , Speedie, Le Saux, Dixon, Durie -Ray Wilkins missed out because his missus was ill. Le Saux still incredibly fit and skilful as was Speedie ...and Souness, has this bloke ever laughed ? Bad for the heart not to have a sense of humour you know. -England 2 v Scotland 0
-
Cant see that happening -Berlusconi will get him if anyone, and I cant imagine his yank missus wanting to live in Turkey either
-
There is no correlation with the title ''Carvalho expects plenty of player exits'' and what he is 'supposed' to have said; ''You have to be prepared for the team to change after the final because people go, people stay and people come in. I don't know yet if I'm staying. I have a contract." Still lets not that get in the way of a sensational headline....

Spot on there.

Tonight ITV 4 i think The Alan Ball Memorial Cup. The likes of Gascoigne, Merson, le Tissier, Ince, Ferdinand, and Waddle take to the pitch against their arch enemies. Should be a few chels leg ends as well not least Le Sox making an appearance
-
He seemed to spend a lot of energy pre match, psyching out Rafa and flinging insults. OK that may deflect from any pressure on the players, but often played into Liverpools hands -just as Rafas comments about Drogba did. Grant ;. As useful as one of those team mascots imo. 1. Unqualified, and appointed because of being sycophantic and ingratiating himself with Abramovich. 2. Has demonstrated no apparent tactical skills and just seems so untrustworthy - leeching off the knowledge and accomplishments of others -would you buy a car off the cunt ? I just get fucking angry feeling that we could be doing better.
-
25m of Buckfast it is then. The Gers were pretty toothless, but the Russians were a good outfit. Will be the richest club in the World in two years ? Gasprom the owners or something. Manchester city centre trashed - but the TV screen failing would try the patience of any fans, and you can bet Lancashire Constabulary were up for a fight. Some of the worst coppers in the country. Usual inadequate school bullies, who join the police for a bit of power.
-
Was feeling optimistic about this game -Grants latest attack on Ferguson, ManUtd , and Referee bias (see various press coverage) is stupid though. Given the game is next Wednesday, not the brightest of things to do, and will rebound - it's about as intelligent as Rafa slagging off Drogba before the semi.
