I do get the fact you want prizes. However, sometimes an investment needs time to flourish. If we kill off our youth investments by short term thinking, the net end result might be awfully negative. This is what I fear and and what I read time and time again on the fora. This is the reason why clubs need good managers, people with long term vision. It is - hopefully with Mourinhou - the way to go. And yes, i am allergic to short time biased thinking in this thread by some.

Do not get me wrong. Mata is crucial and I think extremely good. - actually I hope you aren't even addressing me on the topic :-) I think Mata is as good as ever. We just got more guys now that are starting to shine as well. There is nothing wrong with having more then one genius. I can however- thus- relate to some that say it is a bit of a hyperbole that there can only be one 'performer in the team'. Ow ...we have indeed more than one now .... Just my two cents.

I agree as well, but as i have said in another thread - do no forget Hazard (let alone if we start talking about ceiling). People tend to discount him because he can play equally well on the wing (i think he rules at 10 though). He also explicitly expressed that ambition and Mouinhou seems to rate him if th papers are actually right for once. A team in which you have a 10 and his back up is long gone. The '3' will have to be more fluent. We've seen in the beginning how powerfull this can be and i believe Mourinhou will build on it. You would be pretty stupid to 'fixate' the 10 positions when you have these options - both inter-game as ingame. So yes, Mata will be less important. Not for being worse, but because others also rise up to he occasion. So much the better, I believe for Chelsea as a team.

His brilliance is not his simplicity â it's his intelligence. And that intelligence is being illustrated by that simplicity of his. In that aspect, he kinda reminds me of Zizou. 9 times out of 10, he will keep things simple ; but the tenth time, he will do that flashy play which is quite effective (while Zizou does his "roulette" (don't know if it's the right term in english), Oscar seems to do his backheel). And just as the great playmakers, he knows when to pass the ball, or when to wait and hold down the play, and not overdo things â that assist shows it perfectly. When you add to that intelligence, his volume of play (work rate, involvement in the game, and mobility both in attack and defense) and his defensive capabilities, you just know that this guy is graven to be a n°10 ; our n°10. That's why I strongly believe that we just have to play him as our n°10 (if we keep playing in a 4-2-3-1 formation). I agree 100 %. But .... We have three super intelligent amc's that are just warming up - age and experience wise. They also all three of them bring something different . Mata - that in between the line playing and a pass, the explosiveness and creativity of Hazard, the calmness and timing of Oscar... I hate these kind of discussions because it makes you choose a little between three maginificent players, really. I even refuse to make comparisons , i think for the future. I hope we find a way to make it work together, to create something in which all three of time can shine like they should. If that is not our endeavour .... We will have failed.
