  1. Hi, Bayern fan here. First off, I have a question for you... what convinces you from his limited play-time that he's worth (more than) the €39M that's being touted? Personally I see it as a high-risk transfer for Bayern. Secondly, I would like to point out your misinformation. So many are accusing Bayern of 'tapping up'. Did you even read the FIFA regulation 18.3? Reproduced below: By claiming Bayern are tapping up, you are claiming insider information that Bayern did NOT send an email/fax/letter to Chelsea's offices saying something like "We are going to enter negotiations with your player Callum Hodson-Odoi. Take care xxx", and also that Bayern have actually negotiated with CHO (this is only a rumour). What we know for sure is that Chelsea are well aware of Bayern's interest, which means that Bayern have communicated their interest in CHO to Chelsea. Claiming Bayern broke rules is almost libellous, as are many claims that Bayern 'bully' other Bundesliga clubs. I challenge you to find me a professional club which does not frequently buy players from their own division/country. Certainly Chelsea aren't any different either. Robert Green, Danny Drinkwater, Olivier Giroud, Ross Barkley, Ethan Ampadu and Willy Caballero since summer 2017.
  2. One of the best and truest posts I've ever read about Gomez, and it isn't even on a Bayern forum. Couldn't agree more. As for his ability to perform in the big games: the CL matches are the big games. Those are the only matches where the whole team plays with 100% motivation. I wouldn't say Bayern are bored of winning domestic competitions, but it's not too far off. He scored 12 goals in some 9.5 matches so far. Whether or not he dribbles past 6 players before scoring, it still counts as 1 goal at the end of the day.
  3. Granted, but it was once in 90 minutes, and you were at home. Dortmund did it five times on a neutral pitch. This is my point... Chelsea are a very good counter-attacking team (not taking anything away from you), but, just from this aspect, Dortmund are a class above anyone else at the moment. If you can emulate that, you can score 5 against us in the final as well. But I really doubt you could do it as efficiently as Dortmund. The Bayern players lacked will yesterday. Their minds were clearly on the CL final. However, now some heads will be lowered. I don't mind losing out on the DFB Pokal, in fact I'm more worried about the morale ahead of the CL final. We hope we don't end up 2nd in all competitions this season
  4. Ouch! Not a good game at all for us. Dortmund have terrificly fast counter-attacks and they ripped our defensive midfield and defense up completely. Hats off for them, though the result is a bit flattering for them (they only had 6 shots on goal). Dortmund's Hummels wouldn't quite agree with this. Before today's cup final he said that they "are the best team ever". Of course, this is plain BS, but I also don't think there's any other team in the world that's so great at counter attacks. They repeatedly went from GK to being 1-on-1 with Neuer with just three passes. While Chelsea definitely has better quality than Dortmund, there's no way you guys could counter-attack as fast as Dortmund. At least we really hope not, given that van Buyten may even play in the final.
  5. FC Bayern's central defender Daniel van Buyten has shaken off his injury and is curently playing (and getting owned) against Ingolstadt's reserve team. http://www.bayernforum.com/bundesliga-f3/bayern-munich-ii-and-youth-teams-matches-t5545-255.html#p158766
  6. Bayern also have to win. There is a good chance that Bayern will lose the German Cup final considering they lost the last 4 matches against Dortmund. Furthermore, Bayern have lost so many Champions League / European Cup finals that winning this one is a must now. Out of the last 5 CL/EC finals Bayern participated in, they only won once, in 2001, on penalties.
  7. I'm reading some of your posts and I don't quite agree. van Buyten will probably play. He has to. Tymo showed he's no good as a CD. He's OK in CDM, but he's not got the tactical awareness of a central defender. Today is the fourth consecutive day in which van Buyten is training. OK, his last match was in January, but I'm sure he'll be fit come 19th May. He's going to be out of match practice, however. As for Kroos-Schweinsteiger, in our forum we were actually saying how bad it was. They provided the defence with no cover. My prediction for the CL final: ----------------------Neuer Rafinha---Boateng---van Buyten---Lahm --------------------Tymoshchuk -------------Schweinsteiger Robben--------Kroos-------------Ribery -------------------Gomez
  8. Cahill's not been out for long. If he starts training next week, he's got ample time left to be fully fit for the Champions League final. Luiz's been out for a bit longer, but it's the same thing with him. Both will play, it's just pre-match tactics.
  9. This is how the Allianz Arena is expected to look on May 19, using the UEFA colours. Bayern don't want to use red and blue because blue is the colour of the city 'rivals' 1860 Munich.
  10. While this statement is wrong, as Ballack was a runner-up for Leverkusen, it's still quite valid. Funnily enough, both players played for both Bayern and Chelsea. I think Robben will be even more pumped up to win this. There are 2 attendance sizes for the Allianz Arena. For domestic matches, it holds 69,901, where in a certain part of the stadium there are people standing. For UEFA competitions though, everyone needs to be seated. It's part of the rules. So the capacity goes down to 66,000. It's certainly not 70,550. The rest are for neutral supporters, sponsors and UEFA partners. You can expect the majority of people sitting in these seats to be rooting for FC Bayern.
  11. I have been using that username before a certain Adrian Mutu was playing professional football, so it has a different meaning As for problems picking a starting XI, believe me our headaches are worse, especially if van Buyten does not recover in time. van Buyten is slow, but the tactics of Heynckes allow every player to go down to defend, so the opposing attackers are under a bigger threat before they reach the central defenders than there used to be in the van Gaal era where there was no proper link-up between defence and attack (leaving the defenders exposed). van Buyten is an excellent tackler and very strong (both in the air and in challenges). He is slow, but if he is covered well as he was before he was injured then he could perform very well. Another note on him is that he is the ONLY player in our squad who consistently scores from dead ball situations (corners and indirect freekicks).
  12. Hi, FC Bayern fan here and I come in peace For your information, Daniel van Buyten has started training today. He was massive this season (after a number of disappointing seasons culminating in the disaster at the 2010 Champions League final) and in fact has a very high Castrol ranking (if that even matters). Bayern are hopeful he can play against Chelsea. If he can't then FC Bayern will be doomed. The reason is that the choice of central defenders loosely follow this: 1st choice Badstuber (suspended) 2nd choice Boateng 3rd choice van Buyten (was 2nd before his injury but Boateng improved now) 4th choice Breno (definitely out injured) 5th choice Gustavo (out of position since he is a DM, but he is also suspended now) 6th choice Tymoshchuk The problem with Tymoshchuk is that he is very poor in the air and will have major problems against the likes of Drogba. Furthermore, he is the only other DM in the team, so with Gustavo suspended, Tymoshchuk would generally slot in the DM position. This means that if van Buyten fails to recover, Tymoshchuk would have to play out of position (and probably perform very poorly) and Bayern would play without a true #6. But anyway, van Buyten has started training today, so it is a major boost to our chances.
