Signing Rooney is taking on board a lot of ifs and buts though. Sure, if he can find new desire here and be rejuvenated then he will bang them in, possibly like never before and fire us to the title but the other situation is that he has peaked early like so many players and is on the decline. It's not like Rooney is risk free either. Cavani has far less risks because he's at the top of his game.

Keeping in mind bringing in the 'Chelsea has never overly relied on Strikers' argument devalues your answer.

I'm still wondering how he won member of the month. He's being overrated. Having said that he'll be a very good signing for United. They need a Defensive Midfielder more than Thiago though. So I'm not too worried and really none of ManUre or Citeh's signings will worry me unless Cavani goes to Citeh.

Why on Earth buy him when we use Oscar in the same way? It also means Oscar will continue to be stuck on the right meaning less play time for De Bruyne. Where's the upside to this?

Just because he's fucking Spanish and plays for Barcelona does not make him a better player than De Bruyne. De Bruyne looks class and we're short changing his ability and potential.
