Because we need homegrown players and we're not developing anyone ourselves... Same can be said for Rodriguez. How do we know he'll adapt to the English game? You seem to forget that he struggled a lot when he first joined wolfsburg.

When was the last time a homegrown player was developed by us who was consistently a squad player? Bertrand? In what, 10 years....
