Nailed it. They don't perform their duties as attacking midfielders, they just play for themselves
-
The weakness in our attack is Oscar and Willian.
-
Oscar and Willian are suppose to feed Costa but they are not creating anything.
-
Is there no one to take set pieces? We have had numerous free kicks and corners and all taken poorly by Willian. He is also breaking up our play lots of times.
-
Oscar really need to come off
-
We need to really sign Marhez and get rid of Willian bcos he does not create anything upfront

When Jose came back, the question i and many concerned faithfuls asked was how is he going to play his style using Hazard, Oscar and co. who were purposely bought to steer the team towards playing attractive football. The answer we got from him and his worshipers is that he is going to change his style and play attractive football. His first game in charge was against Hull. I watched carefully as the boys played one of the most beautiful game in the first half and by half time we were up by 2 goals. After recess, i was disappointed to see team sitting back to allow Hull to control the game, and you could clearly see that they have been instructed to do so. Then we went to MAN U to play 11 players as defenders against a team that was struggling with Moyes and had zero confidence. The bus continue to be parked in every game till date. My guess is he managed to convince the board and the players to buy into his philosophy for the first season. In the second season we were playing well until we lost 5-2 to Spurs, which made him activate park-the-bus mode. Unlike the first season when the players were on board the "bus", this time they did not buy into the idea and this manifested in the team's bad performance from January to the end of season. We however managed to win the league because we had little competetion. Come this season Jose decided to continue with the same tactics and this time, the players have not been on board since the beginning of pre-season. The players want to express themselves on the field and they are indirectly telling Jose, but the egomaniac one does not seem to bother. He would rather we loose than play attacking football and our loosing streak will unfortunately continue unless we change the manger or we replace half of the squad with players of Jose's caliber, like Essien, Lampard, Drogba etc. The truth is the first option is much cheaper, feasible and more desirable.

I am beginning to believe that Jose really doesn't care whether we do well or not. First of all he lobbied seriously through the supporters and some old players to return to the club. He did that because his family want to be in London and his kids want to be educated in London schools, hence "the happy one" statement. As it stands now, he knows if he get the sack he will collect his cheque and his family will continue to live in London. He knows what he is doing.

There you go! Just like Jose himself, crediting people by their past glories rather than their current performance
-
I keep on saying that no amount of spending will solve this problem. It's been obvious since January and if the so called coach can't correct it then he has to go. Our numerous world class players can't be crap overnight.
-
I have said it before and i will say it again that no amount of new signing will save our club from these bad performances so far as Jose remains as the coach. What we are seeing started mid last season and a good coach would have long corrected it. I remember the first season when Ferguson had RVP. In his first two games RVP struggled, and when interviewed, Ferguson said wingers and mids not getting the ball faster to RVP and he will work to correct that. RVP ended up winning the golden boots and UTd won the league. You cannot have that many world class players like Matic, Cesc, Costa, Hazard and Pedro in one team and have all of them perform badly, unless the coach is doing something to limit their ability to perform to their fullest. You could clearly see that we don't display a coordinated attacking football, no penetration and limited runs There is also one thing about football that you cannot brush aside, and that is, players not only play to win but to also enjoy the game. If players who are naturally gifted are not allowed to attack use their skills, they loose interest and that is what is happening to Cesc and Hazard.
-
That is exactly my observation. Since Jose came he has managed to increase the average age of the squad from 24. For three consecutive season he has brought in three washed up old strikers, and two of those were his former players, and one being a player of his agent. So he could have gradually Bamford and Solanke since his return if he has a long term plan for the club. I guess winning an under-20 CL doe not mean anything to him. He has also reduced the creativity of the team considerably and has zero plans to play attractive football.
-
What people are refusing to accept is the fact the no amount of spending will solve the problem. The problem is purely a coaching issue. Jose has not improve our game at all in terms of organized attacking football since Rafa left and it showed significantly in the second half of last season. We are getting worse and players seem to forget their natural talents because priority is given to defensive abilities. The board knows that and that is why they are not splashing the cash this time. In my opinion, Jose is not the same person we had ten years ago and it will be suicidal to think he the man for the future. I regret to say that he came back to the club because his family want to live and school in London.

If i were the the owner of Chelsea with the ambition of developing talents for the team, i would fire Jose immediately for admitting he evaluate young players in 10 min. How can you see a potential in 10 minutes? So he allows older and wash-up players to continue to flop game after game but would not give young players a chance (Drogba in last season and Falcao this season). If he really meant what he said then he is not a good coach. The fact is he has no idea how to groom young players so he always has to rely on established players to execute his way of playing the game. Well i don't want to believe that his CL victories were fluke.
