We're hated. Its as simple as that - people are jealous of our success and they hate us for that reason. However, this is a blessing in disguise for the fans - it means additional jeering when we win
-
There is a lot to look forward to. Save the Man City game, we've not looked that great this season so we can only imrpvoe. However, considering we have not had the best of starts, we're "only" five behind the league leaders, and the gap from fourth to second is just a couple of points. Should we beat Arsenal in December, this title race will be blown open.
-
Yes. And for those unaware, Michael Ballack will be featuring tonight
-
That's good news. I'm a big fan of Paulo, he has received a lot of unfair criticism.
-
We're Chelsea FC, there is no way the FA will take this appeal into consideration.
-
The only problem is, when he plays, he tends to be playing on the wing in the 4-3-3. I think that for some games against more physical teams, instead of taking on physical with physical, take them on with pace. If we played Bolton or Boro with a 4-3-3, with Kalou, Malouda and SWP, the pace of those three players would win us so many freekicks we'd be bound to put one away. However, with him playing on the wing, he gives a lot more to the team, I feel. We only have to look at his assist record this campaign to see why.
-
I wish we had kept Tiago, he was an incredibly gifted talent. But if we play as you have suggested, I would have Essien/Mikel, Lampard/Ballack/New signing with Lampard/Joe Cole/new signing as the playmaker.
-
Yes, IF he is not happy the club should let him leave. He would cats a negative influence over the team if he stayed against his wishes. He is very important to the club, I heard Brendan Rodgers say he often helps take training with the reserves and academy sides.
-
I agree, and only playing lots of games is going to improve him, so you're spot on with that point. I think 16/17 goals is a reasonable target for him season, but I have every confidence he will exceed that if he had already netted five with a quarter of the campaign gone. I would say he could get 20, but with him going to the ACoN, he will miss a fair amount of games.
-
For me, its Lampard, Terry, Drogba and Cech that are the only players who are likely to start every match. Grant plays Essien often enough, but he's rested him when he can.
-
Of course, you can't fault the boy's talent. IF the opportunity arises to sign him, we'd be fools not to bid for him, as he is one of Europes' finest.
-
That was Petr. It was away to Bolton on April 30 2005, when we won the league
-
This game is on Sky, so remember you can watch it on Sky.com for a small fee
-
Yeah, I can't wait for it. I also think we should make some preview threads for reserve matches, perhaps a subforum in the match chat forum? Would add some much needed interest, the reserves don't get much attention.
-
Maybe he can, but he would essentially be kicking out either Essien, Mikel or Ballack from the team.
-
Quite true. I feel soon, Kalou will be putting away even more chances. He is a good player and has bene cracking so far this season. My only concern is that he is missing some glorious chances, the Derby game being a good example when he ballooned over. A more experienced striker would have buried it, I wish these kind of things would fall for Shevchenko.
-
Quite true about the first thing But if these reports are correct, it would seem to me that there is a lot of interest for Clarke, and that the club are determined to keep a hold of him. However, it could also mean that he has threatened to walk, and the club want him to stay. I'm not sure, but expect an official announcement on Chelsea TV sometime soon.
-
His profile? You mean he is too much of a media darling? LMAO, Mourinho is the worst culprit for that
-
What do you think are Cech's top five saves in a Chelsea jersey? For me:1. vs. Tottenham, 2004. Robbie Keane's point blank header looks destined for the net, only for a pure reaction save by Cech to first the ball away.2. vs. Liverpool, 2007. Steven Gerrard's wonderful volley from Mikel's poor clearance looked a certain goal, only for Cech to spread himself and save low down.3. vs. Portsmouth, 2004. Cech's save from Nigel Quashie's swerving effort had all six feet, six inches of the Czech goalkeeper's frame strained, and an outstretched arm saved Chelsea.4. vs. Arsenal, 2007. Julio Baptista's rocket shot in the Carling Cup final tested our big goalkeepr, but he dived well to his right to push the balla way with his left hand. Show off!5. vs. Blackburn, 2005. Cech's penalty save from Paul Dickov ensured he broke Petr Schmichael's record of minutes unbeaten in the Premier League. He went 1025 minutes - three months of football - before picking the ball out of his goal.
-
OMFG this was the greatest game of all time!
-
Well, not playing is not helping his confidence. Mr Grant seems to prefer Drogba and Kalou over him. BUT he should be playing regularly during the ACoN. Hopefully, he can show his worth then. Its the only chance I can ever see him getting.
-
I was worried on Saturday. I was watching the match on Setanta, and he just sat on the bench throughout. I hope he isn't going to leave.
-
Let's get this straight - the player is past his peak. He was at his peak at the same time as Sheva, in 2005. So we'd be risking another flop if we bring him in for big money. I'd prefer to buy him now because he's played for Barcelona in the CL, so his valuation will be decreased as he is cup tied. But, he can play anywhere. I'm worried that this might be the starting pistol for Joe Cole to leave.

Mark Hughes - The Only Non-hypocritical Manager In The Premier League
BlueLion. replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Football Chat
Who hasn't ? All I'm saying is that if it was another manager, they'd have moaned. -
Oh I see, its from the way you used the word 'just' suggested so. No worries
