  1. As much as I am a fan of John, I have to say RC was the most consistent defender last year for us.
  2. AND ITS SUPER Chelsea SUPER Chelsea FC WE'RE BY FAR THE GREATEST TEAM THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN Fucking remember that, and we'll get on fine
  3. Hull aren't actually that good, they're just playing with a lot of confidence and belief at the moment and I feel that we will be the team to pop their bubble on Wednesday night. Let's face it, if the likes of Lampard, Deco, Joe Cole and company can't beat Hull, how the fuck are we supposed to win the PL?
  4. And my dreams of becoming an impressionist have just gone up in smoke
  5. Hopefully Defoe shows his old boss what he'll be missing with a couple of goals
  6. Much the same. In fairness, whilst we were unbeaten, in the 88 matches that encompassed the two defeats either side of the run, we obtained only 3 more points than United and Arsenal and 7 more than Liverpool.
  7. The one player we missed more than anyone was Essien, IMO.
  8. So our unbeaten record of 86 comes to a halt. I'd like to see any team beat that. Not sure if you know, but its a European domestic league record. The previous one was held by the Nantes team of the 80s that went 84 without a loss. I think, anyway The last 88 home matches in the Premier League, from Chelsea 1 - 2 Arsenal to Chelsea 0 - 1 Liverpool: Games Won Drew Lost Points Chelsea 88 62 24 2 210 United 88 63 18 7 207 Arsenal 88 62 21 5 207 Liverpool 88 61 20 7 203
  9. Karim Benzema plays as the lone striker for Lyon and has done since the tail end of the 05/06 season when he was just 18 years old, and young players such as Benzema, Kun Aguero, Fabregas, Ronaldo and Hatem Ben Arfa have established themselves during their teenage years. I don't think it is too much pressure on the boy, but when you compare di Santo to the likes of Fabregas and Ronaldo, you could perhaps argue he does not share the same special talent as those players did at his age. Don't get me wrong, I think di Santo has the potential to be a star, much like Hernan Crespo, I just don't think he has had the same development in the past that Ronaldo had at Lisbon, Benzema and Ben Arfa had at Lyon, and because of that his growth is perhaps behind them. The only way he can obtain that growth is training and playing regularly - its beneficial for him to be playing with Terrys and Lampards and Ballacks, but IMO, at such a tender age, he needs to be nurturing his talent at a 'smaller' EPL club.
  10. I hate them as well, its just another reason to stuff them
  11. Well we are facing Arsenal the Bridge very soon, if we put one over them then, then I expect we could do the same at the Emirates.
  12. I think he is a good player, but is very much a Sidwell IMO, looks great at the heart of the Villa team but would be outclassed by Ballack, Deco, Lampard, Essien, Mikel etc.
  13. For the fourth year in a row, Terry is named in the FIFPro Team of the Year, and is now the only player to have been awarded this accolade four times. The team is Casillas; Ramos, Ferdinand, Puyol, Terry; Xavi, Gerrard, Kaka; Messi, Torres, Ronaldo.
  14. A win is a win, and three points would actually be a fantastic result. Don't care if its 'only' against Hull, I don't think many teams will go there and win this season.
  15. If Liverpool go on to mount a serious title challenge then I don't mind losing the record to them. Gutted to have lost it of course, but I really couldn't care less that it was to the Scousers. If anything, they are feeding us so much ammunition, should we win the title.
  16. Plenty of time left yet. Liverpool have had good runs and faltered before, I am not convinced that they can mount a challenge yet, its simply too early.
  17. So you're all saying you'd rather lose the home record to a shit team?
  18. If Spurs could get a draw against Arsenal, I'd be wanking myself off tbh. Means they stay in the bottom three and we extend the gap over the Frenchies.
  19. Glad to see someone being rational with their thinking, Ollie
  20. The song I'm listening to is very appropriate... Cos all of the stars are fading away Try not to worry You'll see them some day Take what you need And be on your way Just stop crying your heart out. Noel Gallagher is a hero
  21. Our away record is brilliant, and I hope now we don't have the burden of trying to keep the home record going, that we will perform better at home as well.
