Why not play Paulo left-back? Also pleased David Dunn is missing for Rovers; by some distance he has been their best player so far this season, the majority of their goals have been scored through invention and influence on the midfield.

Absolutely spot on. At least I'm not the only member to be a fan of the German, who, after Drogba, has been my player of the year so far.

In all fairness, I don't think that we will miss Drogba, Essien, Mikel and Kalou as much as in previous years, because we have the quality to replace them. The fixture list has been kind to us; we haven't got any games against any of the league's biggest teams, and only an FA Cup third round tie to navigate. Noticed all of Frank's best performances this season have been when playing alongside Ballack? I don't care what anyone else thinks; to me its absolutely irrefutable that the balance Ballack brings to the midfield is what gives Lampard the license and room to move forward.
