Too easy, way too easy. Our defending is absolutely disgraceful at the moment!
-
Well done linesman - that would have just about summed this week up if that had not been given!
-
That was pathetic by Sturridge. Such immaturity will not help if he is going to try and break into the first team ahead of Torres. I expected more from him tonight, but all he wants to do is stupid flicks, etc. Head in the game!!!
-
Pretty sure Mata came off on Sunday for Bertrand straight after Torres was sent off. Agree though he is our best player so remains to be seen if it is a good idea to play him.
-
One can only assume Marin is still not fully fit. Although on that basis it is probably easier to start him and bring him off if required. The fact that if we are struggling we can feasibly play Mata, Oscar and Hazard behind Sturridge excites me against that United team!

Chelsea lodge complaint about Clattenberg
Superblue replied to bababoom's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
As long as we have more evidence than just people's statements. You have to hope there is more proof than that to bury him. The last thing I want to see is this being turned back on us because the complaint gets thrown out. You have to believe, if an external legal team has helped, that we have real solid evidence. -
Madrid agreed to sell Aguero and Godin to us in the summer, but we were impatient and panicked from a shit run so brought Torres and Luiz. Aguero wanted to come to us. Although I'm happy to have got Luiz over Godin, Aguero would have made our current squad almost complete and we wouldn't be talking about Falcao!

Chelsea lodge complaint about Clattenberg
Superblue replied to bababoom's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Surely Chelsea officials must have been confident there is sufficient proof besides one or two people hearing it. They were quick enough to shoot down Cole's statement in the Terry saga. If all match officials support Clattenburg thats 3 supporting statements he will have. Without any other evidence this will not hold up! Surely there must be some video evidence! As usual the club decides to implode after a great start to the season! -
Chelsea lodge complaint about Clattenberg
Superblue replied to bababoom's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
The long term fallout is going to be more ref bias against us regardless if proven or not. All the refs are in support of Clattenburg so either way we're going to now struggle to get the rub of the green! Is there no video evidence of what he said, what with all the cameras at the game. If there isn't then we're fucked!!! -
That's like saying Welbeck won't stick around because United brought RVP. If Sturridge ends up leaving and Torres also, Lukaku could develop into second choice behind a striker like Falcao and he would get plenty of game time in the future in such a position. He's young and has to keep his head down and work hard - there is enough raw talent there for him to develop into a very good striker in the future.

With Fergie's reign coming to an end and a lot of older players at united needing replacing, they will probably not be the force of old over the next few seasons. City still have problems coming in line with FFP and so many high paid mercenaries, i don't think things will be as smooth for them over the next few years as people believe. With a couple of quality additions and some top young talent out on loan to come back in, we are in the driving seat to dominate this decade of domestic football. I hope the board can see the changes RDM is making and allow him to build a potential dynasty.
-
At least this fallout will hopefully mean Clattenburg never refs a Chelsea match again, certainly never at the Bridge!
-
I find it hard to believe also, but I don't believe the Chelsea players would lie about something as serious as this given what has happened recently over Terry. Apparently a number of Chelsea players heard both the comments on Mata and Mikel and are willing to give statements to back it up. Sounds pretty iron clad to me. I really hope if that is the case that he's sacked from the referee's list, it shows incredible bias towards a team if he is making comments such as that to players on one team.
-
This fucking Clattenburg thing compounds to the anger - everytime we are flying something derails us, every time, every season! If it wasn't bad enough the fall out from the Terry race row, we've now been screwed over against one of our biggest rivals for the title and a new row has erupted which will no doubt drag on and allow the media to create another frenzy around the club to try and distract us. No doubt the FA will find Clattenburg innocent and the media will burn Chelsea about lying.

I agree about the poor defending HOWEVER we also have to take into consideration that this more expansive style will not only naturally make us concede more goals but also take time to strike the balance. Take into account we have played three very good attacking teams this week. Prior to this we had been pretty stingy defensively and kept a few clean sheets so i think there is definately something positive there. If we were conceding regularly against Wigan, etc then i would be more worried. We need to be patient with it but at least we know that domestically at least we are more than capable of outscoring any team.

Lol no as in he has a mic which allows him to make contact with 4th official

In regards to this complaint about the ref, who were the players in question, and the ref is 'miked up' isn't he so if it is true there will be proof?!
-
The United fans gloating is a good thing because they know they've got lucky, know that we're a serious threat to them and shows they're scared. We will have the last laugh because if we can keep our big players fit and buy a world class striker in January we will win the league, I'm almost certain of it.
-
Fuck where do you start today - I know...we were fucking robbed! I guess the Premier League had to find some way to stop our juggernaut to make the league title still competitive this side of Xmas! On a serious note, defensively we were shambolic the first half hour. Ashley Cole had probably his worst game in the last couple of years, and Ivanovic's red card might not be the worst thing as it will give Azpilicueta a run in the team as Brana has looked tired and complacent at times. The facts are though this could well actually make our season. Everybody has questioned if our new breed of players have the fight to match their talent and that was evident today. We battered United either side of half time and I was still confident with 10 men we would get something. The Torres decision and Hernandez goal were disgraceful though. But let's be positive we have some new leaders amongst the group who will take this club places. Mata, Oscar and Hazard seem to enjoy the challenge and all showed what they are both made of and capable of today. Ramires fights for everything in the middle and despite being erratic at times, Luiz is also a born leader. Our midfield trio have shown at Spurs and against United that they will destroy most top teams, let alone the smaller teams this season. Oscar and Hazard will both develop into world class stars over the next couple of seasons and Mata IMO is the best offensive midfielder in the league. The sense of injustice will spur this team on, just like it did under Mourinho. Under Scolari and AVB, we fell apart, but RDM has already shown he has these players playing for him and the shirt and he will use this as motivation to kick the team on from here.
-
United will rest a lot of players - we don't need to burn out our main players, we can still do them over making changes. Swansea is now the big game because we want to get the Premier League run going again and keep United and City chasing us. Team vs. United on Wednesday should be: Cech Azpilicueta Cahill Luiz Bertrand Ramires Romeu Moses Piazon Marin Sturridge Keep the big hitters on the bench if we need them, but the team above is still good enough to win Wednesday.
-
United have matched us up with a 4-2-3-1 of their own, with Fergie trying to spring a surprise by not playing the diamond. It looks like it's going to be who's '3' are better today - let's hope Mata, Hazard and Oscar are on their game!
-
This has always been something in my mind that has tainted my view of him a bit. I wouldn't be bothered if he openly admitted that he considered at the time or was even tempted by a move to City, even if it was purely money motivated. I'd have no problem with that if he was being open and honest. Lampard openly admits he was tempted to leave us in 2008 to join Inter but in the end decided to stay - I've no problem with that as he's being honest. But the fact that Terry kept quiet until he had negotiated a fat new 5 year contract with a highest earner clause, and then turned around and said he never even contemplated moving...who is he trying to kid?!
-
Our three of Hazard, Mata and Oscar need to perform and take the game to United because I cannot see us keeping a clean sheet, and they are defensively poor and lack pace, and their midfield offer little protection at the moment. If our three perform like they did against Spurs we have a good chance of winning because United will present us with chances and space to work in. Torres also needs to put away any chances he gets.
-
Agreed. We are currently top of the league, so at this moment in time why are people being so critical of team selection. Sturridge would have got run outs in the last few weeks and at least started against Wolves, possible the Danish team (that I can't spell!) aswell if he wasn't injured. Sturridge will get games, as will the likes of Moses, Marin and Azpilicueta, but it is much harder for a player to break into a winning team. People need to be patient - Robbie knows what he is doing!

I think you've taken my posts the wrong way mate - Yes we should qualify still from the group (and it's in our hands to do so) and yes we are capable of doing well in Europe this year. However I'm being realistic with our chances in Europe this season and am prepared to give the team the benefit of the doubt a little this season in Europe. The style of play in Europe does not suit up with our own new style and this will take time to get right. I would love no more than to win back to back European cups, but from a hyperthetical viewpoint, if going out of Europe at a relatively early stage helps us domestically this season to win back the league from the Mancs then I would not be against it!
