Sure thing, but the midfield was nowhere to be seen, luiz had his back against our goal, the player comes at him at FULL speed and the ball had already passed him. Sure thats your opinion, but I completley disagree with you. Defending is very often about making crucial interceptions and maybe even take urself a yellow card. Im sure that had he let him pass him and he'd score, people would scream "what the fuck was luiz doing"

Eh what? The ball hit his triceps and his arm was extended. Im not saying it was a penalty or not, but in this case his arm was actually almost as far out from his body as it could (since the ball hit his triceps, thats what it looked to me)

1. I still cant figure out what you mean by that Cahill maximizes his potential ability better than Luiz. How do you know what their respective potential abilities are and how is Luiz doing a worse job in doing that? 2. What is it you see on the pitch that leads you to think that Luiz suffers from "a mental thing"? 3. I cant understand how you feel that Luiz is not one of the guys in the team that go in for it for a 100% and gives his best. You say you disagree, well, fine, but I just find that absurd. As Ive said before... No one is perfect and Luiz is not by any means an exception for that. Every player has pros and cons. For instance, Ivanovic is a fantastic defender and good in the air, but his crosses suck balls. Mata is a fantastic technical player and reads the game very well, however he lacks pace and physical ability (ie strong). What I want to say with this is, while often discussing other players its discussed in a matter that they either didnt play well that particular game, that perhaps that is an area they need to possibly improve or even look past that because they see that they do GOOD more rather than what they do worse. With Luiz, many people instead discuss it in terms of that he has a mental thing, that he doesnt give 100%, that we need to get rid of him and whatnot. I am 100% positive we bought Luiz for who and what he is. In my eyes he's a fantastic defender and player. And even though he sometimes makes decisions we dont agree with people tend to forget that; a ) We do not know what Luiz is instructed to do b ) We do not know what the specific tactics are (who is to mark who, and stuff like that) c ) Every player make mistakes, every game. No one is flawless. d ) We dont know wether the issues that are discussed about Luiz here at these forums ARE a problem.

1. "Tends to maximise his potential ability" - Has to be the most non-grappable thing Ive ever read. Doesnt mean anything and you base that on nothing. 2. "A mental thing" - What are you referring to? Are you a pshycologist? Do you know David Luiz? 3. "Doesnt give 100% every game" - What the HELL do you know about this? If there is ANYONE that puts their heart out there, who really fights for the team, Luiz is one of them. Last, but not least, when Luiz plays we have more pace in the defense, he makes better interceptions, he offers more and better passing which speeds up our counter and buildup play. You guys know nothing of what the situation with Luiz is. We sure knew what kind of defender he was and is. Maybe we're after that? Maybe Chelsea and Mourinho likes the way he plays because it offers some unpredictablity and versatility in our defense? Oh and also, which is something many people forget: There is no I in team. VERY rarely is there one player to blame for a loss or goal conceded. You remember the Luiz/Cech incident? What do we know about that? Was it something Cech said? Something Luiz said? Something none of them didnt say or did say? Also during a counter or when we're defending, its not only the CB's or more specifically Luiz who is to blame if something goes wrong. There is SO MUCH MORE at play.

This is the most retarded arguement you could EVER use. So basically you are saying that because Cahill was cheaper than Luiz we should keep Cahill even though Luiz is better? And HAHAHAHAHA that you mention the table and goal differance. How many games did Luiz start this season? Or more importantly, the last 6 games? You are the definition of clueless.

What do you or any of us know about this? We have absolutley NO idea what Mourinho instructs our defenders to do. Maybe we bought and want Luiz to play the way he does? He has a somewhat unique style compared to Terry or Cahill. What you might say then is something about the mistakes he does, well what defender or player for that matter doesnt? And dont even try to go down the path saying that Luiz makes more mistakes than anyone else. Its a fact that people look past the mistakes that Cahill does more than when Luiz makes them. Or they simply focus on looking more at Luiz and as soon as he does something that didnt turn out the way he/you wanted, they go "oh here we go again".

Could you please tell us what a "normal defence" is? And for 30m, who do you think we should (or even can) buy that is better than Luiz?
