Henrique, you're right it's more than Kalou. AVB is trying to play a brand of football that Lampard shouldn't be the midfield engine for. Same midfield as last week and same non-service, non-passing shit to watch.

Alex was terrible on that goal but you could see it happening as the passes were sideways and slow. The fact teh defense couldn't get the ball out of their half is what contributed to that goal. Hopefully the guys have woken up and will play quicker and sharper. No one can pass right now. Why oh why did AVB leave the passers on the bench?

Hodgson will have 4X4 in front the keeper. Let's hope there's enough guile in Chelsea's lineup to break the fortress. If Torres is followed by 2 or 3 defenders, hopefully others will take advantage of the space left open. That didn't happen last week. I don't see Mata?

I'd be surprised if it's really Mata. Have read he's very respectful of and grateful to Valencia and I think it would be a bit tacky for him to show up at the Bridge before an official announcement.

I would like Benayoun to start. Hodgson will order all his players to stay in their own for most of the game and I think a #10 like Yossi will help spot some passes for Torres. But it looks like he's off to Spurs and as a precaution, he probably won't be played. Imagine if he got injured and it scuppers the Modric deal?

If Yossi has to go in order to get Modric then it's understandable. But if they're willing to take Kalou instead, I would be thrilled with Yossi staying. Gotta keep skilled players on the team not let them go. Plus, I don't think he and Modric play the same position. Modric plays deeper and Yossi plays further up the pitch. Yossi is a good squad player and can give a few quality starts.
