You have to admit that van der sar has had a great season. He's been world class, especially against us! I can think of a few key moments in our 3 games this season where he's kept them in the game. Cech's also been world class, I hope he gets Chelsea's player of the year (He's been so consistent). however, I don't think he's stood out as much as VDS. I just want to finish this post by stating I hate man U

Don't forget Chelsea FC were created for STAMFORD BRIDGE not the other way round. It would be devastating to see Stamford Bridge sold and demolished.

Good point! Seems silly to change winning formula (as you say), especially with our attacking success at the Hawthorns! Let's hope Ashley Cole and Drogba continue this form!

Our last games with Birmingham suggest this will be a low-scoring game. get ready for some frustration! Drogba needs to start this! Benayoun could help too, he's very creative

Cech - 7 Ivanovic - 7.5 Terry - 7 Luiz - 7 Cole - 9 Mikel - 7 Essien - 7.5 Lampard - 7 Malouda - 7.5 Kalou - 7 Drogba - 9 Ashely Cole in particular was very, very good. I'm also impressed by cech's consistency this season and hope he wins Chelsea's player of the year.

..............Anyyyway I think Carlo got his tactics right today. We worked the left flank really well (thanks to cole) and our defence seemed solid (with the exception of the goal). Overall I think we should wait until the end of the season before judging him. If he could get nando to socre goals like he did a few years back, we'd be unstoppable!

I don't thnik Birmingham are as in-form this time, even though they beat Sunderland today... I reckon this will be a routine win like today's match. Hopefully Drogba will start with Torres. If only they could play well together

Their not mediocre players though are they? People have just come to assume this, but Carrick and Park have blown us out of the water over these two legs! They also have a better rate of teamwork if their performances are anything to go by. Look at their 4 goal comeback against West ham!

cech cole terry luiz ivanovic essien ramires mceachran neymar Drogba & torres (if in form) I really feel Drogba has a part to play in this team. He has the whole summer 'getting to know' Torres on the field. Hopefully some magic will occur... If not I'd rather swap Torres with Sanchez.

Cech: 7 - Did what he had to. Almost got caught out but still made the save Ferreira: 6.5 Solid, made some runs down the flank too Ivanovic: 6.5 - Some good runs up the wing. Saw some skill too! Made one disaster pass which was thankfully defended. Luiz: 7.5 - Strong, quick interceptions as well as decorating our attack with some great footwork/ passing Cole: 7 - Some good attacking play Malouda: 5.5 - Shadow of the player he used to be. Scrappy goal but scored it nevertheless Ramires: 7.0 - Hardworker, some good passing Lampard: 6 - Some sloppy passing, disappointing Mikel: 6.5 - Subbed too early, but didn't look too energetic anyway Anelka: 6.5 - Some good link-up play with didier Drogba: 7.5 - Started well, showed his strength multiple times. Looked very likely to score. Wasted some of his free kicks... Subs Benayoun 7 - Refreshing to see creativity as well as his style of play. Not perfect though, bit rusty I suspect Torres 7 - Came so close to scoring, good game. Looks good with Benayoun Alex 6.5 - Made some good tackles for the small amount of time he was on Overall: 6

Big positive in the shape of Benayoun, especially that chance he set up for Torres. Overall though, a dull game. Thank god we won!
