  1. He’s resulted plenty for a team with Messi - if he wasn’t good enough he wouldn’t have played. His Benfica stint while brief was dominant. In both cases, he has a proper midfield. The issue here is, people don’t properly assess his midfield partners, and so think the onus is on him to provide the support that is needed in place first for such players to be creative assessors without repercussion. To simplify and not be a twitter idiot, DM, CM, CAM —- whether he is CAM or CM or DLP, you have to have destroyers alongside him, who recycle possession, with cool heads. Caicedo is not exactly that. Lavia is not that at all. In which context, can Enzo actually do whatever fiction is in the air yet to be done. When there are different players alongside him. Don’t misprofile him. Fabregas would be shit in this side, Pirlo would be ran over, Kroos would get similar statements made. Greatness struggles to come through when burdened with anxiety or stress. The environment is the issue, dynamics are the issue. Not the player. What this club fails to understand is that most players teetering between very good, and great, need a great coach. Ancelotti to Pep would have him looking like he was, and should further be. So too with most players we have now, who won’t hit their heights here, as usual. How many times can players be great everywhere, shit in this obviously shit environment, and still get sweeping assessments made in that very context. How many times want the great players out, mistaking them for being the issue, as opposed to the absolute garbage either side of them week in week out. It harms their abilities. Have seen all these takes before re De Bruyne re Havertz re xyz majority of fanbase cannot properly assess whatsoever even if give it a full day off to try. Players particularly detailed why they’re one of the ones, by reputable people. Written off like kids by kids with no contextual considerations re the nuances that determine success, and determine good football. Way more than is ever touched on among fans. I’ll enjoy him playing actual football whenever he is lucky enough to join a football club🙃
  2. He’s had more bad than good games, and I pined to him personally to not leave when he was out on loan. It’s clearly a mentality thing. The concentration and drive aren’t there. I think he feels resigned to the fact he was about to come back to xyz, but instead has really come into a fray of bullshit. It’s real easy to down tools under this board.
  3. I’m excited to see his value rise / flip him too but patience
  4. He’s the worst keeper I’ve ever seen, literally, not seen lower among all teams I’ve ever watched.
  5. I did. Supporting striker. There was always a main focal point that wasn’t him, but either he’d arrive like a fox in the box just behind and score a messy tap in, or smack a worldie from edge of box. He always put up way higher numbers than the lineup suggested he should have. Their attack was basically as gelled as when Liverpool were on Firmino Mane Salah. He was not out wide, he was tucked in just barely behind striker, at times it was like they were running 3 strikers or 0, all interchanging, two with the goals, one causing disarray. His side dominated possession and could afford him just roaming.
  6. Enzo would be fine and thriving for Madrid, for City. 2+2. It’s an issue re approach. He suits a traditional setup ie one which dominates. He fits a team that dominates possession, or chances. Metronomic players, to eye of the needle ones, aren’t going to show use that often if instructed to do anything beyond what Kroos was doing, Pirlo before him, Fabregas if you want to though he was trained a certain way, resulting in a unique profile. Enzo is a hybrid really of these players, in profile. Why on earth measure him while either playing as a SS, or in a midfield built out of jelly that would not be able to protect Kroos properly. If he was afforded being in a side where players are on top form - Benfica, seen it, Argentina seen it, next club will see it again - with guile in their style as ethos — you know, top functional teams —- you get one of the best players at timing passes, seeing passes, getting the ball where it needs to be on the pitch, knowing before anyone else where the momentum is shifting. A pretty traditional playmaker, who is not supposed to be tackling, yet that is being highlighted as a weakness - christ. A better understanding is, he is unable to play the role he was playing before here, as here, he doesn’t get the protection to. That is not on him. It is on fans once again not knowing X from Y in making sweeping assessments of players. He remains misused like more than a couple players at the club, asked to do new things alongside profiles which don’t compliment what’s been recruited. Nkunku will soon be flavour of the month for misunderstanding the same way. It is clear what Enzo can do, and clear that different teams have different abilities in emphasising or nullifying xyz profile. Conflating that with an agenda that he himself is an avg player is stupid. He has an amazing footballing brain. Like Nkunku. Easier to do well here if less accustomed to higher standards. All players we recruit from better situations, falter here. They adjust. Rotten apples spoil the fresh ones fast. The order of things is wrong, the design of things is wrong. Fans will mistake more than just 2 very good players, as not very good, during this era.
  7. The majority of players I’d expect to fail to maintain their level with the club being so dramatic, immature and stupid. Players are in tune. It’s not a fun time to play for cfc whatsoever.
  8. It’s still crazy, given 0 top players with fitting profiles recruited among them.
