Only MFs in PL recent history who had seasons with double digits in both goals and assists are Gerrard, Lampard, KDB, Bruno and Eriksen. Some come close like Dele, Yaya... But many of these players are classic AM. Conor is CM which makes it even better. I really think he can be that new Lamps, Gerrard level of player. Maybe this season he wont reach that especially 10 assists but he is still 21yo it will come with time. So excited for his future here.

Mount is playing as an attacker, CG is MF. Cannot be compared really.

Conte will wipe the floor with others in top4 race. Normally it would be 70-30% for United but Conte makes every team 30% better so I think Spurs. And it would be nice set back for United to miss CL.

What is Tuchels preferred formation anyway? Not sure he has any. He looks like a flexible manager who plays to players strength. Because he changed it in every club. So this is why I dont know what to expect for the future. For example with Frank we knew he likes traditional DM and eventually would bring one (Rice) and drop Jorginho. Conte and Sarri were also open books about their style. People are often speaking about Rice, guy from Monaco, even saw Casemiro links the other day but not sure TT is feeling the same way. In Mainz he had Polanski, after that Weigl and in PSG he introduced Marquinhos as DM. SO no one here is very physical player. He wanted Jorginho for PSG. Him changing it to 3atb here is I think more down to our CBs than anything else. And many Chelsea fans seem to forgot that defense can still be great with 4 atb system. Even with Sarri was very solid apart from 2 games. Will Tuchel switch to 4atb here at some point? If yes, what is preventing him now? What does he need? New CBs? How would Kounde and Gallagher fit in our team as I expect them to be here next season.

So CL last 16 first leg will be played on 15th/16th and 22nd/23rd February. Our CWC final is on 12th so surely they will put us to play on 2nd week?

Thing is that with Lukaku I expected him to score around 25 goals in all competitions this season but still not to be happy with him after all. Because this is who he is. But he is not even fullfiling my lowest expectations...

Play 4231 with him as AM and build team around him. He played in this role just 5 games last season early on and it was very promising. Krasnodar, WBA, Palace, Southampton and Barnsley. In these 5 games we scored 20 goals with him having 4g 3a. After that he got Covid, Lampard changed formation and the rest is history.

We scored 7 goals last 3 games and only because of luck got one win today. If our defence was on previous level and kept clean sheets or even concede one goal in every game we would got all 3 wins. I agree those 3 players are under performing big time but it's essential for us to be solid at the back again because once we were we looked like title contender even with attacking players under performing.

At some point next week only Chilwell will be out so one injury cannot be excuse.

I said we had good run with CHO not that he should start. And no, I don't think Havertz should start either. I don't have any agenda, we have 7 players upfront for 3 positions. Ones who deliver should play. Simple as that. I said Werner should start today because he delivered against Zenit. I also said Mount was our best player against Watford and WH. But last 2 games he didn't deliver except tap in today. Main issue is that Ziyech got dropped for no reason. Against Everton for example Ziyech and Pulisic should be sure thing. 3rd spot between CHO and Mount.

So are you worried? They did not produce anything. First goal was all Alonso and 2 pens won by Rudiger and converted by Jorginho. On the other hand Ziyech produced in every of the last 6 or 7 games he played and did not start last 2 games. Absolutely mental from TT. Our good run was when Ziyech and CHO played.
