Interestingly, after all the rumors about John Stone making a move to Chelsea last year got me interested in watching him anytime Everton was on TV. He makes just as many poor decisions that costs his team goals as Luiz. He just does not have the sideshow flair. Come on you Chelsea!!

Just think, Costa AND Luiz on the pitch at the same time! I do not believe they have ever been in Chelsea blue together, not even a friendly. Could be a lot of emotion scoring and beating Arsenal, Man Utd., etc.

With the new TV money, etc, everyone knows PL clubs are being robbed by European clubs because they "can". So, you almost have to completely forget the fees paid for players anymore in any comparative conversations. So, 30 million today, is like 20 million 2 years ago, like 15 million 5 years ago, etc. So, setting the fee to the side, given we could not pry our top targets away from their clubs as we would not pay insane fees for them, what is Conte to do? Sit around and just go, "well, we did not get our top 3 targets, so let us do nothing"? If the club was deep, probably would be a good answer. However, we all know how thin we are at the back. No guarantee Zuoma comes back in his prior form. We are an injury or two back there from playing some real untested players that would be a disaster. Would you really rather have Miazga on the pitch over Luiz? Really? In midfield, an injury to Matic or Cesc, would you really want Mikel back in there or Luiz? Keep in mind, Conte had Matic playing way up the pitch. Luiz could do well in that role. Sure, we would have preferred our top targets. But are we really going to pay 70 million, 80 million, etc for them? No way. We cannot make the other club deal with us. So, given the circumstances, Luiz would be a decent addition. No one said he would start every game. Probably would start 25% or less. But he would give us depth. Conte would coach him up in my opinion and have him more forward unless in at CB due to injury. Sure, he can be a bit of a sideshow at times, but always a fan favorite and I think his energy would further Conte's methods. I liked him when he was here before, but I know his limitations and what you are getting. If true, then I say welcome back David! Again, no one at the club would be saying, hey here is the guy leading us to the title. It would bring us decent depth. It would not be the first time we have paid 20-30 million for a non-starter, see Cuadrado, Pedro, etc. Come on you Chelsea!!

It's a Blue Day, Chelsea, Chelsea! Nice effort, certainly first 70 minutes were all CFC. Could have been 6-0. Really liked the player movement all game. Very active. The XI showed chemistry and came to play from the opening whistle. Happy for Moses. Well earned. Took nine PL games last year to reach 9 points on October 17th. Quick question for all of you in the UK, I know there is no over the air TV availability of the 15:00 PL matches over there, but are they available via PPV or if you go to a Pub? Or are you just completely out of luck unless you go to the match or find an eastern Europe bootleg stream? It's amazing we get every match live in beautiful HD or streaming here in the US.

Yes, there is way too much complaining about this and that each week in here, certainly pre-match after the XI is announced. But I will say that with Batshuayi, I think you are seeing fan frustration because he brings a lot of excitement and people want to see him on the pitch more. He has shown he deserves the opportunity. Oscar has shown little other than lack of creativity. Yes, Cesc is a defensive nightmare, but nothing Kante cannot cover for. Hey, no one complains about Ivanovic any more, right? At least not much, so there you have it, progress Regardless of the XI, let's go get a clean sheet FFS. 4-0 to the Chels!! Hazard-Costa-Hazard-RLC Come on you Chelsea!!

Sean Dyche is Mourinho-light and will put 11,785,211 precisely behind the ball throughout the game from the opening whistle. We need players that can create via skill or physicality (Cesc and Batshuayi). I am just stunned with Oscar and Matic in there.

My fellow Chelsea mates, enjoy your night and weekend. 6 points out of a max 6 two games in. We will only get better. We certainly can get better and Conte will make sure it happens, starting with the XI. Conte is a better judge of talent in my opinion than Jose based on his career and clearly a better strategist. Great finish after a sleeper first 70 minutes. Cesc made such a difference with his balls in the penalty box and then chipping the ball away that started the break and then passing Diego open for the winner. Batshuayi has to get more time and a start. So active and physical. CESC MotM for me!! Batshuayi a close second. Don't forget the efforts of Hazard and Kante. Oscar and Pedro can watch from the stands next week for me. . The stupid headline will be Costa's possible dive. How about the missed hand ball on Watford about 5 minutes before? If Costa was a dive and off, then Watford should have been penalized prior and a penalty attempt for Hazard. Got to work Cesc into the lineup. Maybe Matic sits for Willian too? Batshuayi has to be out there as well. I like Moses off the bench too. Better than Mikel. I know Ivanovic had an awful game passing and with his crosses, but his defensive work improved some I think. Now, all of you be honest, at about 70 minutes, how many of you were throwing things at the TV/computer and saying, "same old Chelsea from last year!", only to be pleasantly proven wrong? Wow! What a difference Batshuayi and Cesc make! Just as everyone on this board has suggested. Cesc has been the difference with his passing. Batshuayi has such power. This should be the starting XI. No need for Oscar or Pedro. Hold onto this one lads!! Come on you Chelsea!!
