  1. This must be Alex when he reads through the match threads
  2. This is the very reason Nathan Ake did not go out on loan. This will be his 3rd year at the club and he wanted to fall into the club trained category
  3. Bad news for KDB fans who play FIFA. His face isn't in FIFA 14. Good news is they have added Oscar, Hazard, Azpi and Courtois' faces
  4. I totally forgot that I'd applied for it until I got my email yesterday. Squads are pretty outdated on the beta though (Downing is still at Liverpool amongst a few other things) Player ratings are pretty much the same as last seasons (I imagine they'd be tweaked before the full release) so far though it's just really been a learning experience trying to get to know my way around the menus and looking for bugs
  5. Xbox 360. Spent so much time getting used to the menu system in the career that I only really played 4 games. The gameplay is a lot smoother this year and Stamford Bridge looked wider than in last season's game. I'll not post my results though as they are slightly embarrassing
  6. Spent the last 2 hours messing around with FIFA 14 career mode beta. Going to take a lot if getting used to, but I'd say most of the changes have improved the game. Had to spend £9 million to get Eto'o though
  7. I think the point he is making is is that if he was allowed to play against us and put in a great performance he'd be taken more seriously by our coaching staff.
  8. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/336142/Juan-Mata-could-force-Arsenal-or-Manchester-United-move-by-handing-in-transfer-request
  9. I don't get all this "Wish this thread would shut down" nonsense. Yes I may have mentioned that I wish we hadn't sold him, but I wouldn't say that's living in the past, it's just me voicing an opinion. I still like Daniel as a football player, but it seems that if a player leaves Chelsea we can no longer talk about him? Is that correct? What about people talking about Witsel or DDR? They don't play for Chelsea and are very unlikely to sign so what makes that any different? I dislike Liverpool as much as the next guy, but I can't help liking Daniel Sturridge and enjoy seeing him do well. I'd prefer it if he was wearing a Chelsea shirt, but that's just the unfortunate way of football. If it makes folk happy though, I'll stop posting about Daniel in this thread (as so many folk want it closed) and whenever I have a point to make about Daniel, I'll just hi-jack another thread
  10. Doesn't detract from the fact that they have indeed played a team of importance
  11. So they didn't play the current Champions, and beat them, today then?
  12. It's only a rule in England. In other leagues though, there is usually a clause put in the contract that states the player can't play against their parent club.
  13. I don't think I'll ever get over it to be honest. The more I see him shine at Liverpool, the more it hurts. It's that bad that even when I do a FIFA career I always buy Danny back
  14. Surely that article just prove that what I said is true. Penalties are a lottery, the problem in 2008 that instead of going into the shoot out the way the would normally do, Chelsea went in with a plan, a theory. It's far easier to work out where a player is going to hit the ball if all of his team mates are using the exact same pattern. If Terry hadn't followed the plan, he may very well have scored. If the rest of the players didn't take similar penalties, then the Man Utd coach probably wouldn't have figured out the system. It was an interesting read, nonetheless, but it just proved to me that you can't go into a shootout with a plan, it has to be an on the spot split second decision, meaning that it's pretty much a lottery. The nonsense about nuclear missiles was a ridiculous comparison, I'm really not sure what that was all about
  15. Penalty shoot outs are an absolute lottery. Most keepers guess a direction and hope for the best. Some players smash it, some players place it and some players are indecisive and don't know what to do. The latter sums up Lukaku's penalty last night. He bottled it, plain and simple. Nothing to get angry over, it happens to the best players (See Roberto Baggio 1994 World Cup Final) The reaction from some folk on here is far more embarrassing than Lukaku's penalty. I said it in another thread and I'll say it in here, I've genuinely come to the conclusion that a lot of our fans (read that as posters on here) are wanton malcontents who will live out their lives in a permanent state of anger and frustration
  16. You boys need to just give it up and watch gymnastics or something. If you're getting this worked up and overreacting at one mistake when a young 20 year old had a huge amount of pressure on his shoulders I really fear that one of you may spontaneously combust at some point during the season.
  17. I really am beginning to worry here. Although I'm not sure how reliable this source is http://sulia.com/channel/chelsea-fc/f/dc3018d0-ee95-4fcd-8d50-e3e263de2a5e/?source=fb
