IMO we shouldn't attempt to buy Cavani because his fee would be around the £50 mark and there's just too much of a risk that he could flop in the PL. I would go for Benzema to be honest, he already knows Mourinho and he wouldn't cost the amount that Cavani would. Second to that would be Costa, simply for his goal ratio and reasonable buy out clause. Benzema, Lukaku and Torres and the strikers for next season.

Out of all of the top sides, Arsenal are the ones I fear the least. I suspect Oscar will be back in the #10 role to put pressure on the middle field passing game of Arsenal. I suspect Hazard will also start on the left with Schurrle on the right. Not entirely happy about the signing. I agree that he will add something with regards direct right side play, but I can't help feeling sorry for players such as Moses, Schurlle and possibly KBD. I can't see Moses being around by the end of the window and expect him to be loaned out for a season to someone like palace as a replacement for Zaha - something like that anyway. My only worry is that JM has an idea of Hazard Oscar Willian as his ideal middle 3 and now has the intention of brokering some level of cash + rooney deal for mata. I adore Mata so much, he is easily one of my favourite players in the world, however, I am eager for a striker (Rooney) to come to our club. If it means sacrificing Mata, with him being replaced by Willan and Rooney then so be it - It'll be better all round. P.S - I hope i'm wrong and that Oscar will drop into the pivot with a Hazard Mata Willian middle 3

Considering the game against Hull was relatively easy (in terms of fitness) I don't see any issue in starting Hazard and Oscar with the view of subbing them around 65 mins. I think this is a perfect time to play Villa - After their result against Arsenal it would be very unusual for them to adopt a different tactic against us. I think we've made our position clear with regards Rooney - 'all or nothing'. I would prefer to stick with the view of only wanting to sign Rooney as I do not want us to be in the position where we end up signing a player who isn't 'quite up to it', albeit still rather good, and be in the position this time next season where we are looking to replace that striker with someone better. Basically, I would rather we went out and bought Rooney rather than buying an inadequate Plan B that will need upgrading next summer.

First post! I can't see anything other than a comfortable win, assuming we get a goal before half time. I doubt Hull will 'go for it' as it would be too risky for them to risk losing 4/5/6-0 in their first game and therefore I see them lining up in a deep 4-5-1 with the intention of defending deep. In response, it's pretty obvious that we'll need some creative flair to get that early goal which will force Hull into 'coming onto us' a little bit more and in turn creating more space.
