  1. I understand difference in opinions, but I'm talking about several people on here making posts about being disgusted by the Bale/Luiz transfer prices. I'm not making that up.
  2. The issue in this thread isn't whether or not you all like Pogba, it's that you're all just very jaded on the direction of football transfers in general.
  3. This is definitely a very solid point. However, I still feel as though even Hazard isn't a finished article. Players don't necessarily hit their prime until their upper twenties. I am fully aware that Pogba is still a raw product, but that is what makes him so exciting and potentially prolific. As is, he would be a massive upgrade in our midfield, surely there is no doubting that? Give him a couple years in the team and we could be looking at one of the best the world has ever seen.
  4. Now we're asking the right questions.
  5. The price is high, you are right. But you have to take a serious look at the market and realize it is changing for good. Luiz being bought for 50m is a perfect example of this. The problem with Pogba is that he is already a top midfielder on the world stage and Juve know this. Either we adapt and start paying more for players, or we don't and start getting used to more trophyless seasons like this one.
  6. Were Hazard or Oscar finished articles when we bought them? No. Look at how they've developed. For the past few years Chelsea have been in the business of purchasing elite young talent to feature in their first team. That pattern fits perfectly with the pursuit of a player like Pogba.
  7. I know I sound cynical, but I'm just observing the way we operate as a club.
  8. Eventually selling those academy players with all the potential you speak of.
  9. Guys, I love Chelsea but really look at who we are as a club. We got rid of Matic for next to nothing and then bought him back for 4 or 5 times as much. This situation isn't as severe as the Pogba one simply because Pogba is as prolific as he is, but I think you get my point.
  10. I don't disagree. I love the youth. I just think we need to be realistic about how we develop it at Chelsea. These players should be expecting loans to first division sides before they're considered ready.
  11. Also, consider this. A guy like Romelu Lukaku who has been out on two successful Premier League loans might be sold by the club! Miles better than any of the three strikers we had this season, yet we wouldn't play him. Why on earth would you expect Chelsea to rely on Chalobah RLC or Baker? These lads haven't played a premier league minute. Anyone thinking they will be heavily featured this season are deluding themselves. Chelsea buy talent. Plain and simple.
  12. Anyone arguing against bringing in Pogba is just silly. Already one of the 10 best midfielders in the world with probably the potential of being one of the best overall players in the world. It's simple, if we have the money and he's willing to come here you make that deal ten times out of ten. Why is everyone so concerned about the money? Take a look at the market currently and understand that you support Chelsea FC. We're going to have to pay a lot of money for anyone! The club clearly has the money based on recent deals, so why not? I guarentee you won't miss the money when the next few years are littered with an array of trophies.
  13. Why would we need a DM when we have Frank Lampard ready to start every match we play?
  14. Because the club has been fucking foolish with how they're handled him to start this season. He should be first choice after the preseason he had and now he'll be banging in goals for another club. Makes me absolutely sick.
  15. And for the record, I hope Lukaku gets the golden boot this year.
  16. Called the Lukaku loan as soon as he missed that pen. I'm sure he has a lot to do with this, not entirely the club's decision.
  17. Lukaku needs an environment where his confidence can grow rapidly, unfortunately that isn't at Chelsea right now. The loan is a good move if true. Hope it's Everton and not WBA though.
  18. And people thought the loan of Lukaku wasn't realistic after the Bayern match... Hate to say it, but I called it. Now I'm justing hoping these Ibra rumors are true.
  19. I sure hope you're right. I want nothing more than for him to succeed with Chelsea.
  20. Look at his position in the squad as well as the penalty miss. He very well may ask for a loan himself.
