Just come over to the dark side. I will guide you! [emoji48]

How much does a Delerium cost in your hometown? The brewery is down the street correct? In the states they cost about 9 euros for a 750ml bottle.

If it happens, I will put on so much weight. Chocolate and beer, two of my most favourite things in the world.

Sounds excellent. Something to works towards in the future.

Does a growler shop culture exist in Belgium? You may call them something else other there. Anyway, two doors down from our condo is a growler shop. Every know and then we take a a large jug down there and the owner fills it up with a beer of our choice straight from the tap. It is excellent having tapped beer in the home.

Lol! No, but we have a bar in every street, does that count ? Filling up a jug with beer is considered a mortal sin here. Every beer has its own type/form of glass. Its all about taste.

That more than counts. Sounds like back home in Australia. I am not a fan of the drinking culture in the USA, it's all about shitty food and big TVs blaring sports. We drink the beer from the jug of course, it is just a way to transport it home.

Heh, imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Been meaning to ask, you left Australia to live with your girlfriend in Chicago? Obviously a while back but curious how the whole transition went. Are you on a student visa? That's how my mom got in the country.

Gent is fucking amazing though. Worth the visit for sure. It def is. Chocolate, beer, mussels, waffle, etc. Much better than Brussels, by faaaar.

The city is small, but its a good small. There r nice bars (Charlatan) and the beers are out of this world. I had all the way from Delirium to Tongerlo (best beer I had). Its amazing!

Leonidas, Neuhaus, etc have great chocolates but the best one is a small store close to the club med store, they are half the price and double the taste!

The old castle in the city is also damm nice abd its just 6 euros to get inside...

The place I stay was alright, safe and good breakfast and it cost me 20 euros per night, not too expensive.

Not many people know english though, but I had Tom's help of course

I've always wanted to visit Belgium. Ever since I was about 15 and watched the film 'In Bruges'. I feel in love with the scenery and environments. The gf's mother traveled to Belgium just recently and so have you! I'm jealous!

Problem with you traveling to Europe is the expensive flights from and to USA isnt it?

Because honestly, you wont spend too much in Belgium itself. The trains are cheap, the accommodation is fair and you can alternate cheap kebabs with local cusine so you dont waist all your money on food. Also, many things are pure sightseeing ( = free) but the ones that arent, people from 18-25 have big discounts...

Ive traveled for 3 weeks straight and Belgium was my last stoo before settling in Berlin to study. Id say ive probably spent 40-45 euros per day. But I did absolutely everything I wanted. I obviously saved where I could (I can give you tips), but I never felt like it was retracting from my experience.

I think I've been Alex since you joined the site... from 2005 to 2007 (on the old TalkChelsea/CFC-Fans) and then 2007-2011(?) on here I was the enigmatic BlueLion

The only sad bastard in the world who has nothing better than to spend ages writing 31 thousand posts on TC! :P

(yes, I fully realize that as far as sad bastards go, I'm that much behind him! )

Who you calling sad? I have 31,000 posts since 2007... you have 27,000 in a lot less time, bitch

Sooooooooooo, now you, Alex and me are all on the non policing, simple members side? Ow shit, this could be good! Just Jason and it is a riot!

To be fair, I was active during the Cap and Pub golden days eras unlike yourself, so the majority of my posts were incoherent useless crap!
