Starbuck 0
I have signed up to do the <you>Highland Santa Six</you> on December 16th, with proceeds going to the WildHearts Foundation, a dynamic Highland based charity helping people to help themselves by giving them a hand up, not a hand out. The Highland Santa Six is 6km fun run with a festive twist; all participants will be in Santa suits provided by WildDay Out! This event is open to all, whether you want to run, jog or walk the beautiful route around the River Ness, starting from Inverness Leisure. Kids can also take part too, if you're under 14, you can become a Wee Santa and join the fun. If biking is more your thing you'll also have a chance to get involved. WildDay Out is challenging every town in the Highlands to put together a team of Cycling Santas to ride into the event! There'll be plenty of extra things going on throughout the day, with music, entertainment and awesome games happening at Inverness Leisure, including hilarious human table football and a bouncy bungee run. All the pre-race festivities kick off at 11 am with the Santa Six Fun Run itself taking place at 1pm.Charity-wise, on a domestic level, WildHearts helps people, especially children, to adopt healthier, active lifestyles and to become more involved in their community, so it's a great organisation to raise money for. Info on the WildHearts charity & the work they do is here: http://www.wilddayout.com/WildHearts_Foundation.aspx I have started my training runs already & will be working at the gym at work to get my stamina & strength up. Please sponsor me - http://www.wilddayout.com/AnitasSantaSix - thank you in advance!!! x x x Edited November 29, 2007 by Starbuck

Starbuck 0
Sponsorship is up over £200 now... on the final push for sponsors now, as my run is on Sunday. I didn't run today as I woke up late with a twinge in my back & was trying to get Luke to school on time! I was also still recovering from the solid hour's run I did the other day! According to the organisers, when I picked up my Santa suit today, they told me I am their TOP FUNDRAISER so far! There are prizes for the people who raise the most money overall, so looks like I have a good chance... plus, I haven't hit my boss for any money yet! Please sponsor me if you can... even just a couple of pounds... & don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box! Many thanks for your support & encouragement... it means a great deal to me. x x x

Starbuck 0
I am back... & still in one piece... I SURVIVED THE RUN!!! The weather was perfect & I was very pleased with my time... 6km in about 38 minutes... not bad. There were between 250-300 Santas running, so it was a really good turn out. Here are a few pics from the day, courtesy of Luke's dad...1. All dressed up, ready to go ... 2. Santa Warm Up ...3. Santa Triathletes from Aviemore ... 4. Ready for the off ...5. Triumphant Santa - & Luke ... 6. Me with my medal ...Thanks for all your support & donations, you have all been FAB!!! The sponsorship money doesn't have to be in until the end of January, so I'll leave my sponsorship page up until after New Year for people that still want to donate to this fabulous charity. Thanks again!!! x x x
