Mikel agreement with Lyn

Recommended Posts

Chelsea have confirmed that they have reached agreement with Norwegian club Lyn over the John Obi Mikel dispute.

The Premier League club had issued a High Court claim against Lyn and their former chief executive Morgan Andersen.

Chelsea paid £16million to Manchester United for Mikel - a player who they signed from Lyn - despite the fact The Blues thought they had already secured the player.

Mikel always insisted he only ever wanted to play for Chelsea which paved the way for him to move from United without playing a game - but The Blues had to pay.

Because of this they looked to recoup the money they paid out and now the club have confirmed that the issue has now been resolved.

"Chelsea Football Club and FC Lyn Oslo have resolved all matters between the two clubs with regard to John Mikel Obi," said a Chelsea statement.

"The terms of the agreement will remain confidential. There will be no further comment."
