carefreeluke 27
Hehe! Have you been watching Mikel since he has come? He does loose the ball a bit, awful last season for that :-) but he is getting better I can feel badboy laying into me now LOL Lol...he never looses the ball. Like i said its because he just keeps it simple. He wins the ball then gives it to Lampard, Deco, Ballack etc so then the team can move from there. He doesn't look for the killer pass, thats the job of the midfielders who play in front of him.

EskWeston 696
For me Mikel is an outstanding player. For his age he is at an incredible level. And considering how his career has been extremely stop-start for one reason or another it even more of an achievment. Mikel was class against Portsmouth and we have missed him for the last 2 games. Scolari seemingly doesn't want to play Essien in the holding role, which is good because it is not his main ability. When Mikle is fit, he will play if you ask me which will be great for him. I think we will see him come on even more this season and become an integral part of our team. The holding role isn't Mikel's natural game, not at all, but he seems to have embraced it and will now take it on as his persoanl role. misschief 24
I thought he totally bossed the Portsmouth game and was a lot more influential than he was credited with being. Good job really, considering we'll be relying on him for some time now - lets hope he's fighting fit for the next few months.

Badboy 1,526
He does spray a wayward pass here and there. Yes he does bluelion but just admit he is the best at the squad at keeping the ball !
Guest Lampards Bitch
He still has room for improvement. IF he plays regular this season and has good, consistant performances, then I would possibly tip him to be the player of the season and the end of this one for Chelsea. He has lots of room for improvement in other aspects of his game. His ball control passing accuracy, and strength mean he is good enough right now.
