ManagerXI 12
I would be interested in hearing about any successful sports betting blogs that you know of. If you are a regular reader you might give a bit of background to the blog. If there is other blogs that don't focus on individual bets but more on betting strategy that would also be a useful resource I would be interested in. Finally if you can recommend any sports betting books that would be useful I would be very interested. The best way to beat the bookies is to help eachother become more educated bettors as collectively we know more than them and can adjust faster to team news / form / motivation / issues in the squad / likely tactics / ect. Thanks.
ManagerXI 12
Pinnacle Sports is a large bookmaker who advertise themselves as a bookmaker who welcome winners - basically they won't close your account if you are a long term winner as they use sharp bettors betting patterns to sharpen their markets which would seem to be a winning strategy as although their revenues are kept private it is estimated that their gross revenue is in excess of $1bn. In order to further this company image they post short but quite informative articles on their website to help betters educate themselves and become more profitable. http://www.pinnaclesports.com/en/betting-articles
ManagerXI 12
My main area of interest is the English Premier League. Below is a list of the main British newspaper titles that will keep you up to date with team news so that you can get the best odds and maximise your profit. *Don't believe everything you read*http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/index.htmlhttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/http://www.theguardian.com/football/premierleaguehttp://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/public/football/http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football*Notable mentions:http://www1.skysports.com/football/http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/premier-league/
cosmicway 1,333
If you are trying to beat the book it's a mathematical job, provided they pay something and the prices do not diminish to zero as a result of taxation etc. Here is a forum I joined recently:http://theukbettingforum.co.uk/XenForo/They are serious guys with plenty of knowledge.Of course maths is not enough. There are various team issues and so you need blogs to look into what's happening. There is also this forum you probably know of:http://www.bettingadvice.comHere they have sectionalized things by country / competition and you can find some usefule info. One problem area is however to decide what is an important piece of news and what is n't.There are some extreme cases. One extreme is team fields amateurs as a result of economic problems, so if you get to know this you are saved. Opposite extreme was with some yellow cards from ... 1977. The blogger checked the UEFA site and he gave us as absentees players who retired in 1977 (and the year was 2006 !),But essentially what the bookies do is use mathematical formulas, so you have to have mathematical formulas at least as good as theirs. Then they call upon the services of local experts for verification, then they proceed to offer a price. Plus of course if some big money is wagered during the in-play period they respond accordingly and make the necessary changes. This is how their system works.
