Special Juan 28,141
Chelsea's new boy Loic Remy scored his first international goal since signing for the Blues when playing for France in Paris last night -delivering a deserved victory for France over a strong Spanish side. He was introduced just before the hour by Didier Deschamps and the goal came from a well-crafted move involving Karim Benzema and the eventual assist coming from Mathieu Valbuena, to which Remy dually smashed home the left-footed strike, with David de Gea left standing in admiration. This came on the back of his signing for Chelsea for a fee believed to be in excess of £10 million. The ex-QPR and Marseille man is seen as a direct back-up to Diego Costa, and replaces the outgoing Fernando Torres who joined AC Milan last week on a two-year loan deal.Remy has chosen to wear the number 18 shirt for Chelsea and will be available for our game versus Swansea a week on Saturday. Remy offers a lot of versatility to Chelsea as he can play as a lone striker or can also operate on either wing.On joining Chelsea Loic said: "I feel very happy and very proud to have signed for Chelsea, they are one of the best clubs in the world and I can't wait to get started, training and playing with my new team mates when I get back from playing with France".It was some what interesting to see that at either end of the field was two of Chelsea's new boys representing each nation last night (Costa started up top for Spain), and also refreshing to see two very talented lads that could potentially fire us to glory this season. There can be no doubting the quality that Remy brings, especially seen as he can play more than one position, which adds huge depth to an already quality-looking squad. The full interview with Remy can be read here.Good luck Loic!
