Filipe Luis agreement in place

Chelsea FC have today (Wednesday) announced the club have agreed a deal in principal to sign Brazilian full-back Filipe Luis from Atletico de Madrid.

An official announcement was posted on their website this afternoon:

Chelsea Football Club can confirm an agreement has been reached with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Filipe Luis.

The move is subject to the 28-year-old left-back agreeing personal terms.

Luis starred for Atletico under Diego Simeone last season, and has widely been reported to have been identified by José Mourinho as an instant replacement for the departed Ashley Cole.

The agreement is still subject to personal terms, but it is highly likely that Filipe will soon be beginning his Blues adventure.

The Brazilian will announce his formal departure in a news conference later today:
