Where are you getting this from? Are there quotes to that affect or is this just from the number of articles out there? From my perspective, perhaps biased of course, it just looks like he's using this to his advantage to get the best and most he can out of the club. It could well turn out that he really wants to go but I haven't seen anything that would lead me to that conclusion yet.

I agree, it would be nice to know exactly where he stands. On the other hand, I can understand wanting to keep your options open as much as possible, but it's getting to the point where it's putting the club in a bad position, they need to be able to plan the future of the squad. Love Eden, but he needs to make a decision one way or the other.

Price is starting to get much closer to the Barella price. I guess he still has the issue of not wanting to move until the summer.

I knew this deal would never work out the way we wanted it. Juve will never offer us a deal that works for us. They aren't stupid, this is a way they can get rid of him. We can't saddle ourselves with buying him. It would be like shooting ourselves in the foot with a bazooka.

I don't think the goal of Sarri is possession. At least not if we're talking about playing like Napoli did. Possession comes but it's not a possession system like Barca play. Our forwards just aren't making runs and we just aren't moving the ball fast enough so we wind up with this slow, plodding, boring possession game. I am interested how we play against Arse this weekend. Finally have a week between games. Players should be more rested and hopefully get some time in practice to work on movement and combinations a bit. We actually looked better at the beginning of the season and I think a big factor in that was being able to spend time on learning the system. We just need to battle through the rest of this year and hope the board comes through with some players that fit the style Sarri wants to implement so we look more like the finished article next season.

The board can't agree to anything beyond a 6 month loan. Anything else is stupid beyond reason.

I think the telling point will be where we are this time next year. I'd like to think we'll be in a better place for all concerned but I have doubts. Those doubts mainly hinge on our board more then the manager.

He took his goal well. Did he have a great game? No. But he wasn't as detrimental as he has been for the past several games. Like I said, I think he had a good game overall. Credit where it's due. And like I said, it doesn't change anything that's been brought up in this thread or change my mind that we should look to improve on him.

I wonder what his asking price is now? Would it be low enough that we'd consider a move for him now? Our current options and players we're linked to are a bit underwhelming to say the least. Higuaín on loan for rest of the season seems the best of what's been reported but if Belotti is available for 30 or 35 mil, seems a better option then Wilson for 50 mil. I know he had a down season last year but I still think his style of play would offer us a lot more then we are currently getting out of our strikers.

I've read numerous places that his move from Roma was due to Roma's finances, a lot like when we got Rudiger.

If it's not a loan I can't see it happening. The same reason Juventus want it to be a sale is the same reason it can't be a sale from our perspective, his age.

I think we just have to say no to Bayern and play him the rest of the season. What's the point of a buy back clause when selling him to Bayern? They may not be RM but they are a pretty big club and if he made it there why would he be interested in coming back? If he doesn't make it there, would we really want to take up the buy back? I've said before I think this is most likely agent/advisor shenanigans to get a higher pay packet in this contract offer. It's possible he really does have concerns over chances here, he's probably right to have them, but Bayern as the choice destination for play time seems unreal. Maybe he's insanely confident in himself but still, expecting more playing time there then here seems fanciful. I don't know, it just doesn't make sense.

This seems like such an obvious set up. Keeps everyone on the same page and pulling in the right direction.

Can't really agree with this. He has offered a different option to what we have been using on the wings most of the season. I don't want to go overboard on him but in the past 2 games he's shown enough to continue to get minutes and deserve them.

Happy that they can pull this one off but I hope we are still going after Barella as well.

Personally I feel like Willian flatters to deceive. He has a great engine, great close control, he can carry the ball with relative ease. The problem always seems to come when he gets to the final third. At 30 and having played professionally for as long as he has, I would expect for him to have a better understanding of when to pass and when to drive past defenders and shoot. It just seems to take him a second or two to make a decision and that's more then the split seconds usually afforded in real time to be successful. I like Willian and yet he frustrates me almost more then any other player we have for this reason. You look at him break away and you think here it comes, and just as quickly it's there it goes. Again, and again, and again. Not to mention his stop the ball and allow defenders to get into position specialty. Sorry, I've gone off on a bit of a rant. I think Barca see that he has good close control, he can resist pressure and carry the ball. In there system, which I think is more possession based then what Sarri's was at Napoli and supposedly what we are working towards here, he's great for them. He can hold the ball, control it in tight spaces and keep it circulating for them. I honestly think he probably brings more to the table for Barca then he does us as I don't think we really want to just hold onto the ball. We want to move it quickly forward and open up the defense with quick passes and movement rather then holding it and slowly probing. Although that does describe the way we've been playing lately. He just doesn't make quick enough decisions for a quick tempo attack in my mind. All that being said, he's been playing for a long time and he's been part of Chelsea for a long time. We have a coach who is at his highest profile job ever and has been here for 6 months and had really no preseason what to speak of with the team. We are also known for not having patience with managers so I can understand his reluctance to let Willian leave while we're in a fight for 4th and having injuries left, right, and center. It could very well be Sarri's job on the line and as much as we may want CHO to be starting every game or most of them the rest of the season I can kind of understand why Sarri would hedge on keeping the veteran Willian around.

It will be nice if we have 8 or 12 homegrown players and they contribute meaningfully to the team. Would love to see it.
