  1. I don't buy that. For me, Ramires knows exactly what he's doing when he bumps into Steven Reid. He starts slipping and then bumps into Reid to make it look like some contact - probably because he knew it was last chance salloon. As for the referee, I can't see him doing Albion games any time soon. That was only his second ever Albion game and another contreversial one, just like his first. That said, it's old news and we debated this last time.
  2. Most modern footballers thesedays aren't injured. They're just breaking up play. Ramires lied on the floor for about 5 minutes, hobbled to the site of the pitch and then seconds later sprinted back on. Injured my arse.
  3. Ramires was booed because he is a cheat - it is as simple as that - we aren't the only club that Ramires has tried cheating against. Fortune didn't assault Rob Green either. He stood still and Rob Green tried flapping around him and after cocking up then demanded a free kick.
  4. If you can show me where I've called Mourinho a t**t then it would be much appreciated..
  5. Giving a view from my perspective - as I've done previously which is pretty much the point of forums.
  6. Absolutely gutted. Never a penalty in a million years. If that's a penalty then lets take away all the contact in the game. Before Ramires runs into Steven Reid he's already on his way down and the referee fell for it - I'd also like to question why he was allowed to referee this game given his local connections. Mourinho also proved himself to be nothing but a tit in his after match conference. We were good. Defended very well and denied you from walking over us. We had eleven heroic performances which almost brought to an end 35 years of hurt until a moment of incompetence from a referee.
  7. Just noticed the other reply. I'll add in some of your replies.
  8. Thanks, Ryan: http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=12493.0
  9. Hello again, I'm back for this seasons edition. As usual, if you could fill out the questions beneath it would be much appreciated. I'll put the replies into an article which shall be posted in this topic later on in the week. Apologies to the forum administrators if this has broken any rules. 1. What are you expecting from Chelsea? Will you win the league? 2. What do you expect from WBA this season? 3. Jose Mourinhio rejoined Chelsea in the summer. What have you made of his second stint so far at the Bridge? 4. His former assistant, Steve Clarke is currently at Albion. What did you make of his first season in management? 5. You signed Izzy Brown from us in the summer. Have you seen him? How is his progression coming along? 6. What did you make of your clubs summer recruitment? 7. What did you make of our summer recruitment? The additions of Anelka, Lugano, Sessegnon, Vydra, Anichebe, Amalfitano etc. 8. What are your best/worst memories of games against West Bromwich Albion? 9. What side is JM likely to choose for Saturday's encounter? 10. And finally, score predictions. Thank you very much.
  10. Albion team - (4231) Foster, Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Yacob, Mulumbu, Fortuné, Morrison, Dorrans, Long. Bench: Myhill, Jones, Tamas, Brown, Odemwingie, Thomas, Rosenberg. Our form has picked up late due to the return of Yacob and Mulumbu so I'm confident that we shall be able to defend much better. I'm also hoping for quite a hostile atmosphere as I think that will certainly suit ourselves more than it will you.
  11. One of our hottest prospects is Donvervan Daniels - Getting rave reviews in the academy. Thanks for the kind words, also. Shane Long had his nan pass away yesterday which just puts added perspective to how good his performance was. Yacob and Mulumbu cost £150,000 between them and would probably get into the majority of the sides in this league.
  12. You can't believe it? How do you feel for us? I'm expecting someone to kick me in the balls and I finally wake up to us being stuck in the bottom three with us miles adrift of everybody else. That's the Albion I know. What's going on?!
  13. So bloody proud of our boys today, done our football club immsenely proud. I shall apologies in advance if this does offend you (although it isn't meant to). I appreciate some of you maybe a bit disappointed at the defeat and this isn't me gloating by any means. I thought we were outstanding if I'm honest, we can play much better going forward, we're aware of that, but defensively, we were very good and although you had some good chances, it would have been bitterly disappointing had we conceded late on. It felt bad conceding late against Man City and I didn't want to experience those emotions today. Thankfully, the lads chucked their bodies on the line, played their hearts out and continued to do this football club proud. Shane Long lost his nan yesterday, yet went out and would have made her extremely proud today. Very dominant display alongside a well taken goal - He's been superb for us this season. Again, Yacob and Mulumbu were terrific in the centre in disrupting your rhythm and protecting our back four. Mulumbu pulled his hamstring towards the end and signalled to come off yet he solidered on which was pleasing to see. Hopefully there's no lasting damage. Today's performance reminded me of a team "all in it together". Spirit, effort, willingness, passion, grit, strength, determination and quality in abundance and this is certainly the greatest Albion side I've ever seen. We'd be foolish not to enjoy this. If Chelsea had a half decent striker, perhaps we would be cursing our luck and walking out with a defeat but such is football, it's never as easy as it's made out. You bumped into a highly motivated side who weren't going to give you an inch. Torres was poor, don't think he brought anything to the game. Hazard, undoubtebly your best player didn't get the ball enough, and Sturridge and Mata looked decent when they came off the bench - I have to pay credit to Boaz Myhill for some quite outstanding saves. Atmosphere was very good too. Slightly disappointed with the Chelsea supporters as I expected much better in terms of noise, but The Hawthorns was rocking with 23,000 Albion supporters willing the boys on to get the victory. Good luck for the remainder of the season We know what we are!
  14. Here's the finished article: http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=9833.0 Thank you.
  15. Would you mind if I added that into the View from the opposition I posted in the Matthew Harding thing?
  16. No deal. How about you pay £165k a week and we pay the £10k, get Torres firing and give him you at the end of the season? The day the Albion start paying wages like that will be the day I give up on my season ticket.
  17. Unfortunately, it looks as though our best defender and certainly the most consistent defender over the past 15 months or so, Gareth McAuley will miss Saturday's game with a hamstring injury he has picked up featuring for Northern Ireland in their draw with Azerbaijan. He'll be a massive blow to us as he and Olsson have built a solid partnership and neither Tamas or Dawson are consistent enough at this level, although the latter has had very few opportunities. If he is missing, Gabriel Tamas shall replace him.
  18. And you'd be replacing Torres, with another Torres!
  19. Sorry to be pedantic but you could at least spell our name correctly!
  20. To see extended thoughts on Romelu Lukaku. There's a thread on-going on our forum: http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=9648.0
  21. I would happily take Torres ahead of Lukaku. I'd drive the swap myself.
  22. There used to be days many years ago where I'd look at this fixture and think 'God, I hope they go easy on us'. Thankfully, those days are long gone , mainly due to the work of Roy Hodgson and the extra charaisma brought to the side by Steve Clarke. We're good enough to compete with any side in this division and I expect Saturday to be no different, granted, you have the quality to take the game away from us, but you're in for a tricky ride. The fact you have a busy schedule favours us slightly as RDM will be in two minds whether to rotate his squad but if you do, it will only work to our advantage in my opinion. I've seen bits of Chelsea this season and they've looked very open, something we suffered with under RDM. At Chelsea he'll get away with having the likes of Hazard, Mata and Oscar who are quite superb footballers. At our place, we had good footballers but not those of the highest quality like the ones he currently has and therefore when we entered the slump, he was unable to change his ways, organise us defensively and hence he got the sack. Our counter attacking is up there with the best in the division, we break with pace and precision and on our day we could have a couple. Ask the dingles how good our counter attacking is. They found it in full force. Saturday will be a tough game and one I'm looking forward to immensley. It'll be a test to see how far we've come. I expect us to lose (as always) but I do feel we have enough about us to get a point. Steve Clarke will probably be reserved in his team selection and go something like this: Foster Jones McAuley Olsson Ridgewell Mulumbu Yacob Gera Morrison Dorrans Long We've played some very good stuff under Steve Clarke so far. Very organised defensively and with the intentions of getting the ball down going forward. Shane Long and James Morrison have been superb for us so far this season, as have Youssouf Mulumbu and Claudio Yacob who have formed a very effective partnership and one which has certainly enhanced the solidity of our side.
