I believe, he was given a proper chance to shine at Chelsea. I never doubted his ability to play, but somehow he was not ready mentally. Many players were or are as a shoe-in. KDB failed at Chelsea, I feel.

Some succeed, others do not. KDB was one of those that didn´t make it. Personally, I feel the club made the right decision here. To me, his ability, play skills were exaggerated.

Well, regardless of their financial position, Jose strikes me as somehow who may take an advantage of it. Costa would be a great acquisition, providing his form is the same next year. If Barca or Real inquire, I do not think Chelsea can change his release clause anymore on the proviso it´s set for 25m. Personally, I feel he should be valued around 30m, but goalies rarely are that high.
