  1. Brilliant little player. Will bring the best out of Torres (which at the moment, any improvement is good) and the best out of Lampard and Meireles. These 3 linking up and Sturridge either side, looks bright for us. Mata is fantastic and hopefully he becomes a Chelsea Legend!!
  2. If I was to be critical of the board this summer, it would be that we didn't get rid of Kalou. I have never been a fan of his but always wanted to see him do well and prove his doubters wrong but after 4-5 years of frustration, I have now lost my patience. I can only think he didn't go this summer as African Nations Cup is this season and his wages are high so no club saw the benefit of signing him. Either that or they also know that he is terrible! Last year of his contract, if we lose him on a free, its no big deal to us as hes an expensive dead-weight. I expect a huge exodus next Summer with Kalou, Malouda, Essien, Anelka, Benayoun, Ferreira and Drogba leading the line of players to leave!
  3. Very valid point made here! As for those critisizing our board, what planet are you on??? Maybe they've deserved a bit of critisism over the last few years for bringing in washed out players and not investing in youth, but we have finally invested for the future this season BIG TIME!! We currently have over 10 players who are under 25 who are possibly worthy of a place in the first team squad, but some are out on loan. We have been crying out for freshness and a long term goal and we have finally got it. We have made brilliant young signings in Lukaku, Mata, Romeu and Courtois and looking forward. Meireles was a back up to Modric, but that is great because at least we had that back up!! Previous seasons we have let players like Deco, Ballack, J. Cole and Carvalho without really replacing them. We now have a squad with cover in every position and experience and youth in every position. Meireles may be 28, but he has a good engine. May not be everyones choice but we need a player like him. So welcome to the Bridge Raul. Here's to a successful future!
  4. Was at the game Saturday and I have to say I was disappointed to see Kalou start, but over the moon when he took him off after 27mins! Shows AVB won't bottle big decisions ... hopefully. Ramires and Bosingwa impressed me and Lamps still looked up to the pace, but now is the time to drop him sometimes. Kalou is just simply awful. How he gets into our starting line up I have no idea but now Mata has arrived, it'd be nice to see us play this team once he's settled in and providing Modric arrives too. Cech Bosingwa Terry Luiz Cole Mikel Ramires Modric Sturridge Mata Torres
  5. Have to say Torres just because Drogba irritates me with his 'I have to take everything' attitude. No doubting his record is fantastic, but we bought Torres because Drogba wasn't performing last season. And Drogba continued to disappoint. I have been slated in my opinion of Drogba as I think he is not quite as good as he used to be. OK Torres hasn't had the best of starts, but signs show he is getting there. Drogba is not getting any better but Torres has the chance to!
  6. Torres did play a blinder but a lot of people forget that Bosingwa looked immense! I am a massive critic of Bosingwa and think he was partly to blame for our Champions League exit last year. But since AVB has come in, he's developed his attacking wing back play again. Against a tough opponent like Stoke its pleasing to see him do well. I thought we needed a RB this season more than any position, but if Bosingwa carries on like this, maybe not!
