We seem to be really good at signing injury prone players these days. People blaming Potter for this but come on, the lad has hardly played and it is not Potter's fault if a man tears his hamstring. Maybe even in preseason we shouldn't play our "real" players to help them stay fit too!

Sad state of affairs when Man Utd are trouncing you in the middle of the park. Seems like not that long ago that midfield was probably our strongest area, now it is clearly our weakest. To be fair if Kante, Kovacic and Jorginho are all fit we have a very strong midfield, albeit lacking goal scoring. Feels like this crisis is a result of so many other crisis - this was always obviously going to become a problem, but it was never at the top of the priority list, or even close.

I assume he is trying hard not to play Kova because he’s trying to manage him back to fitness but keeps having no choice but to bring him on. Zakaria must be literally not at a professional standard to have not had a look at this point.

Agreed. Also this is an improvement imo as we would have lost this one 3-0 at the beginning of the season.

Pulisic looks a lot better since Potter arrived. Feel like he, Auba and Mount all need to start for us at the moment.

Ah Kovacic, man has never been able to shoot but he's never lost the confidence to try over and over.

I think Potter has decided that either Havertz or Auba have to be on the pitch to serve as a target man tbh.

I wonder if Havertz being so tall works in his favour with managers. Is he our tallest player?

I am sure that has nothing to do with it, and it isn't really hate just... disappointment. He has left us exposed sometimes at the back and looks very one footed, and hasn't contributed much going forward (got into good positions and not had ability to play the pass or take shots?). I didn't see him play much before he came to us but now that I've seen him regularly I'd never expect he would be an expensive signing tbh. Maybe he just needs time and those who have seen him in the past can say he can play at a much higher level than this and he just needs time, I've just not seen it so far.

I don't think he is a liability, he doesn't give the ball away loads or make mistakes that give away goals. He just hasn't been finding decisive passes and goals in the premier league. I still think he's a good player tbh. Would probably have given a chance to another player today, but I'm sure Potter has good reasons.

Assuming Broja+Havertz play up top with Mount and Gallagher sitting in behind. We'll see.

Wonder if today will be enough to get Broja his chance in the XI? (more from the lack of good form of his elder team mates, rather than anything he is likely to do in this 5 minute cameo)
