  1. They are for the taking. If the accuracy of our passing improves further from the other night and we don't hoof the ball up from defence, we should get our points and goal tally back up again. Our form has been poor and you'll see this has matched our poor ball retention. They'll probably have the ex Tottenham back in their side but I think some tight marking on him will do the job. Unlike our marking against Pavelychenko ! Terry and Lampard's return is a great boost and will be the start of our climb and Utd's demise !! Soz if the language isn't allowed but Shane has this spot on. Bale is beginning to enjoy falling over too.
  2. This guy needs more chances in the first team. After his brief run out tonight in Marseilles, he looked confident and happy to dive in "Terry esque" with a low diving clearing header. One of our upcoming starlets I feel.
  3. Your line up is incorrect. Paulo Ferriera played and not Cole. As for entertaining, it was frustrating much like watching England play. The only ray of light I saw was McEachran who had a good game and didn't look overawed at all. I'd give him 7/10. Bruma also did well in his short time on. Our passing is falling short, and we seem to be hoofing the ball out of defence instead of playing it out and this usually leads to opponent posession and more often than not, another oncoming attack. Drogba did look disinterested and even distracted. I was also surprised at Essien's desire to squat down and have a good ol' chat with some of the Marseilles players instead of keeping with the rest of the team as they walked off. What a depressing performance. I'm almost in fear of the scoreline on Sunday.
  4. Hi all. A worry for me when I see us struggling to win, is our bench. We have some talented youngsters there but, this is my fear, are they too light weight ? Literally. We've had big powerful men in our side and could brush aside Arsenal kids with ease. Now it seems we are going down the same route. I'm not knocking their ability on the ball but sometimes a few extra pounds can mean the difference between keeping and losing the ball.
  5. Hi all, my first foray onto the forum. One fault in yesterday's game and that has happened several times this season is John Terry pushing too far forward and leaving us exposed at the back. This isn't a problem against a slower side with little attacking threat or when you're 6:0 up but, against a side with Defoe, Bale and Pavly.... , it's too dangerous. I ask myself why has he started doing this more and more ? Is it Ancelotti's wish or is it JT's desire to prove himself as a better player than Ferdinand (which he is) or anyone else and make sure of his England spot ? Whatever the reason is, it makes us weak at the back because teams are far more fearful of a John Terry inspired solid wall defence and not of a lumbering John Terry trying to get back and cut off an attack. Yesterday's red card has been coming for a while. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Terry, I think he's excellent, the tactics of him pushing too far forward are what's at fault. As one of the core parts of our team, he can't be made to change his game so it weakens us. This is currently what's been happening.
