  1. I think they really did want to work with Tuchel. Every decision they made seems to show that. Tuchel just did not want to be a part of what they wanted to build. I guess Tuchel thought he could just focus on football and it would all work out. The preseason and start of the season really was the straw that broke the camel's back. When they players didn't respond to Tuchel and just stood around in that game, something had to be done. One of the reasons they may have been so high on Potter is he can come in and run a team that is set up for wingbacks. He can also transition the club to a 4 in the back. We have quite a bit of talent. If Tuchel really was as disconnected as what is being reported, it was just a matter of time. I would rather they be decisive rather than what Man Utd did with Ole.
  2. I thought he did a great job with the question, Would you have taken the job if Roman was still the owner? Some of these reporters ask the most nonsense questions.
  3. He was injured almost immediately this season. Kante is still my favorite player on the team. There does come a time when player's bodies just cannot take the pounding. The way he throws himself around on the pitch, in control, it takes a toll none the less. I hate to see his level drop off, not much anyone can do when it does. Based on last year and the start of this year, it just might be the time that he is not a priority if he wants that many years but has not been healthy.
  4. Midfielders and CBs are not really comparable at the twilight of their careers. The style of play Konte does requires him to be tireless and injury free. He is constantly injured now.
  5. Yes it is. Along with Brighton’s match and Man Utd’s match. No date for when they will be rescheduled.
  6. That would make Potter's first PL games CP, Wolves, AV, Brentford.
  7. I hope he finds success early. He seems like a calm, intelligent, nice guy.
  8. How so? I can respect and have great memories of Tuchel and still understand that he would not work with the owners collaboratively. You never will come out on top when that is the route you decide to take.
  9. Sadly Tuchel or his people put out a similar story when he was sacked at Dortmund. The spin from both sides is tiresome. It is time to move on. Sadly people will keep repeating this 4-4-2 story.
  10. NYC is always a nice visit, but I would really need to spend quite a bit of time going to broadway and sporting events to make it enjoyable on a daily basis. There is a tremendous amount to see and do. I was hoping you had landed in the SE. Although Atlanta United are dreadful, still a great experience going to a game. When we go to NYC for a visit, I will give you a shout to see if a pint fits in your schedule.
  11. With the postponements we will probably have several threads open until we know exactly how they will schedule the matches.
  12. PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS Wednesday 14th September 2022 Champions League Stamford Bridge 20:00 UK
  13. He only got there at the end of the window, just like he did not think we needed a midfielder. I like Tuchel and respect him, but he really screwed up our window not knowing what he needed. There were much better options early. I am not absolving Boehly either, bot of them were like Keystone Cops, but Tuchel has loads of experience. Boehly was doing the best he could with no experience.
  14. I am not going to react to quotes that are this ambiguous in nature. Tell me who said it or don't print it. Even if they are from an American football or baseball background, failing at one club gives coaches experience and almost all elite Football head coaches and baseball managers have failed at a big club and went on to have a great run at another. It makes no sense that this is Boehly saying this.
