Your comparison with France is pretty exact. Same thing in Belgium. Half of the belgian national football team have got foreign roots. I don't really know why that is. Probably because of social factors. Maybe genetics also play a part.

Totally different players, but I would prefer Musonda as well if I had to chose. But for the record: Tielemans is immense. Incredible passing game, shooting, technique and vision. He'll make it for sure.

Yep. Wilmots is known to pick up big talents very quickly.

Not really my point. Last year, Mourinho had enough opportunities to bring youngsters on the pitch in games that were 'already won'. And offcourse, you almost know for a fact that the first games of any youth player won't be mesmerising. But still it's worth to invest in them. Certainly when you have got a talented youth squad like chelsea has. It's all about cultivating an environment where youth players can grow and become top players. And that final step - to give youth players a chance - is paramount. Musonda shows tremendous potential and that's why everybody is so enthousiastic. Just at 19 years old, he is one of the best on the pitch for three games in a row. Just arriving a week before his first game in a foreign league and having his first games on a professional level (in a team fighting relegation). That's very impressive. And if you don't aknowledge that, I think you're not being a realist at all.

Just a year ago, Chelsea was a lot stronger than allmost all of the teams in England. Still they didn't play any kids.
-
Charly made a huge impact as a 19 year old playing his first three matches in La Liga. What do you expect more than that? You desperatly want to be the realist, but you seem to exagerate. You think that La Masia youngsters had better debuts? No. Not at all. So why do Barcelona, the best team in football today, give youngsters a chance?

You're kidding right?

Yet, Bremen took KDB on loan. Sometimes a loan can become profitable because of the added value the player brings in the team. If he helps you win the league (and the CL money that comes with it) for example...
-
I'm not very impressed by YFC. Mirallas 2.0. Zero understanding of the game. And yes, I say this youth player outclasses him in (almost) every aspect of the game. Musonda is without any doubt the biggest belgian talent we've got (since some dude called Eden).
-
I've seen them both play a lot in the belgian youth squads. Musonda is much better than YFC. In almost every aspect of the game. Different types of players offcourse, but still. Vision, passing, technical ability, ... name it. If they actually want to hire Musonda, it's probably because they believe he could be an acquisition for the team. It's not a real argument to say he's never played a competitive game. He played alongside players like Tielemans and Malanda (RIP) and outshone them with ease.
-
Seems like you all underestimate Musonda's quality. I have no doubt he'd be in the squad of PSV. And talking about Monaco, players like Fereira Carrasco don't come anywhere near him. I think he should go to psv. The Dutch league is known for attacking football and playing CL would do him good.
-
Seriously??? Tielemans is on a whole other level then Dendoncker.
-
I hope Musonda will come on in the second half.
-
Agreed. But if he wants the Ballon d'or, he needs to get clinical and score more goals.
-
Musonda. Absolute class.
-
Ake doesnt cut it...
-
Musonda not on the pitch.
-
He needs more end product. But immense potential of course (if he devellops the fysical aspect of the game). If I were him, I'd watch the best matches of Riquelme, Pirlo, Iniesta, Xavi, Zidane, Makalele and Viera. There is so much you can learn from watching the best footballers (offensive or defensive), certainly when you've got the ability like Musonda. And I wouldn't hang out too much in the gym neither. He needs explosive strength and some muscle mass, but it would be a huge waste if that would come at the expense of his agility and flexibilty.

Charly speaks dutch, french and english. He's a huge talent, but with his ability he should be able to score more than he's doing right now.
