  1. Oliver. I wish we could putting in a bid for him. He was arguably the standout player in the U-20 world cup for Spain in a team that included Jese, Delofeu, Suso and Suarez. He has that Iniesta-like ability to glide past players and has the ability to play defense splitting passes. He is also deceptively strong and retains possession wonderfully. Certainly a good candidate to partner Matic in the pivot and he can also play as a 10 too, putting Oscar under pressure for that spot. He hasn't been getting an opportunity in Atletico and he is played out of position when he gets little minutes here and there, so they loaned him to Villareal in January. Heard Mourinho likes him too. He is very highly rated in Spain though, so it will be difficult to sign him.
  2. There are actually five individual awards available : (1) Football Writers Association award ( voted by football writers, most prestigious one) (2) Young player of the year award (voted by football writers, for best U-24 player) (3) Player's player of the year award ( voted by fellow professionals. Very prestigious) (4) Premier league player of the season ( voted by premier league sponsors and experts) (5) Fan's player of the year ( voted by fans. The least prestigious one because of obvious bias) Even if Hazard doesn't win the FWAA (which, IMO, he should if Chelsea win the league), then he has a bunch of other stuff to compete for. I think he will win the Player's player of the year. I know for a fact that other premier league players from other clubs like Hazard very much and are in awe of his talent and honesty. I'm also sure that they won't want to vote for one vile, racist, biter, cheater and dirty diver called Luis Suarez.
  3. Nothing for his performances against Man City (one of the best performances of any player this season), Newcastle (first hattrick in English football), Fulham, Tottenham. His only poor performance was against West Brom, but the whole team was poor that day. He scored 4 goals and 2 assists in February from the wing, and god knows how many chances he created and how many defenders he embarrassed. And no, Hazard has had a better February than January in the league. Both in terms of quality of opposition, stats and quality of play. And he should have won it in January even. We are talking about a player that is statistically the most creative in all of Europe, and he is not even a playmaker, and he plays for a team without a prolific striker. Sturridge, a striker, on the other hand scored 5 goals in 4 games against West Brom, Fulham, Swansea, Arsenal. He was pretty average against a terrible Arsenal side despite scoring. He missed many guilt edged chances in that game and should have had a hattrick. But when I saw Hazard was up against two other non-Chelsea English players in Nolan and Sturridge, I knew he was not going to win. The English players always get preferential treatment by the FA. And add to the fact that he plays for Chelsea, his chances become slimmer. Just look at how many Chelsea players have won POTM, been in the TOTY and so on. I remember one season, Lampard scored 22 goals and 14 assists in the PL alone, I think 2009/2010, when we won the league....He wasn't even in the TOTY, they gave it to Fabregas. How can a CM have 22 goals and 14 assists in one season and not even be in the TOTY. How many times has Cech been there? Terry compared to Rio? How many MOTM's has Mourinho won? Zero. They clearly discriminate against us, it's something I noticed a long time ago and something Mourinho even alluded to in the post-match press conference vs Newcastle. Fuck them. If Chelsea do win the title, I hope Hazard is recognized as the best player in England and Mourinho the best manager, but I won't hold my breath.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tedib9WiIfU Underrated performance.Truly one of his best games this season, but unfortunately he was let down by some truly inept finishing . How many players in the league can do the things he did in that game? How many in the world?
  5. Bale had only one good year but was heralded as a world class player.
  6. Eden Hazard has created more chances for his team-mates this season (77) than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues.
  7. Balotelli is overrated. Only scored more Balotelli is very overrated.
  8. 4 goals conceded in the PL in 3 months.... 4 goals! Bloody 'ell. Ok, don't let me jinx it, but that's incredible.
  9. I watched him play a lot and he's not what we want, trust me. He'll just be a dud here. Once Lewa joins them, he'll drop to the bench or be sold. And stats mean fuck all when you're the striker for a team that destroys the opposition by 4,5,6, goals almost every game.
  10. The only top quality striker out there that we have a realistic chance of signing. I still haven't heard any noises from his people that he wants to leave though. Unless we make Atletico an offer they can't refuse.
  11. Those of you calling for Manduzvic, can you now see how overrated he is? Never rated him at all.
  12. Thiago Alcantara has basically been converted from a regular CM to a deep lying playmaker by Guardiola, something he can't do without in his teams. It's what we need now alongside Matic
  13. Modric/Gundogan are not really "deep lying playmakers". A DLP would be someone like Xabi Alonso or Pirlo.
  14. No compo for his performance against Spurs?
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wgp4RhUUpsk Another brilliant performance from the young master. Not quite a complete compilation as I remember him toying with the Spurs defense with a series of sweet defense splitting passes. This guy is head and shoulders above any player his age in world football and is one of the best players in the world.
  16. 14 games................14 games unbeaten in the league. Jose, you fucking beast.
  17. Torres would never have had the same impact. Torres wouldn't have scored from Vertoghan's loose pass, Torres wouldn't have been in the box to win that penalty from Hazard's pass, Torres wouldn't have scored either of Ba's two goals. Simply put, Torres is our worst striker and needs to be put out of his misery in the summer.
  18. Yeah, Matic was beastly. Consistently putting in world class performances. Benfica fans said he was one of the best CM/DM's in the world. I completely agree.
  19. We still need to have a conversation about our first half performance. I love Jose, I even followed his career closely after he left Chelsea, but if there has been one "weakness" to him so far, it's that he occasionally tries to be too clever with the starting line-up. That's happened like 6-7 times this season. Of course, he always rectifies that later in the game. Other than that, he's been brilliant. But bloody hell, 7 points clear. I think Liverpool will drop points away to Man United. Huge pressure on them.
  20. Fantastic win for our goal difference. Only +4 behind Liverpool now.
  21. We were awful in the first half really, no excuses. The line-up and formation were poor and in another game, it could have caused us points. Luckily, Spurs are not a great side.
  22. We should be going for more goals to try and increase the goal difference. C'mon
