Assists = set-piece inflation. That's why a guy like Gerrard is up there despite having virtually no assists from open play. But really, the point is a goal is a goal and an assist is an assist. :tophat:

Okay, I agree that he's still a bit to raw and pretty poor tactically, but in my opinion, he's their most dangerous player because of his speed and dribbling. I can't say I've watched PSG too much this season as opposed to last season, but from the little I've seen and from what I've read from sports writers, he's been their most impressive player. I also watched him play Barcelona twice this season and he arguably was the best player on the pitch in both matches. It's crazy to say he's an awful player. As for not making the NT, it's not like it was a unanimously supported view. Most people wanted him at the WC instead of Hulk, and rightly so.
-
He's been their best player this season and has finally added some goals to his game. He's definitely not an "awful" player as you're making out. Easily one of the best players in that league. I'm not sure how you come to these conclusions.

"Hazard has no end product" - Jealous opposition fans

I agree with that. PSG aren't some mediocre side, they are a very strong team. In this same competition this season, they comfortably beat Barcelona 3-1 in Paris. I don't care about their form in Ligue 1, because they're motivation to win it so nowhere near as strong as to win the CL.

What great news to wake up to! It will be a pleasure watching this genius play for many years to come.

Shown more in 90 mins than Salah's done all season. I was really impressed with him, especially considering just how defensive Everton were. He'll be even more boss when Costa and Fabregas are back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_mn5dxD0Bg

Sharp, succinct and to the point.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_EKYN1LoMw I read some comments from knowledgeable posters hear writing Hazard didn't release the ball quickly enough, but that's not true. It's that he's always looking for the best option. Just look at Remy's movement from 7:03-7:09. Hazard's intentions are obvious, Instead of attacking the space behind the defender and gambling for an easy tap-in, Remy is just strolling around like we're winning 5-0. No defender is anywhere near him. If that was Costa in the same position, that was would have been a certain goal. Most of the criticism Hazard gets sometimes is without foundation. Mostly because he's so good and people want a super-hero. And also, 8:15 is also nice as well, as he takes Aaron Lennon's body and soul away from him.

I have this......feeling. I'm actually looking forward to this tie a lot. Very different feeling from last season when I didn't really care for the Champions League at this stage. Maybe it's the fact that we actually have enough quality to go all the way this time, better "eggs" as Jose will say. The joy of being one of the strongest teams in Europe once again. Being in the same conversation as the Madrid's, Bayern's and Barca's of this world. Commanding that respect is very pleasant indeed. Maybe it's all the rubbish we've had to deal with in the league. Can't wait to hear the sound of that anthem again. Bring the Parisians on!

Lucas Moura. People forget about him, he's a monster. In my eyes their best and most dangeorus player. Veratti...... Matuidi.... Cabaye. It's hardly just Zlatan or even Cavani.

Just these last 4-8 weeks alone : Evidence 1 (Note : Remember that Suarez penalty incident last season at the Bridge and how the pro-Liverpool brigade made so much noise about it? So much so that that was the only talking point after the game? How come those same people say nothing about this? That's how the influence their audience with their rhetoric. It's intentionally done. ) Evidence 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bLfCGUV01g Evidence 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeQZrwixxZI Evidence 4 http://gfycat.com/LongIdioticAardwolf (and I'm sure there are many more in this small time period) Riiiiight, okay, nothing to see here folks. Nothing to make front page football headline, folks. And that's without even mentioning the Diego Costa farce, depriving us of our best striker. http://gfycat.com/BewitchedGorgeousBluebird Will they ever tell us how they managed to prove intent? Oh, I thought not, because ex-Liverpool player, Jamie Redknapp had already said he meant it, so it must be true. I'm sick and tired of this bullshit.
-
He indulges them too much, really. I know it's just fun, but the truth is half of the people in that room laughing with him can't stand him. It's this same people writing anti-Chelsea rubbish for rags like the Times, the Daily Mail and the Guardian.
-
If Costa had put in the same exact performance Remy did vs Everton, Mourinho would have played him alongside Drogba. It's already happened this season. Remy even got dropped after scoring and playing well vs Man City. Strikers need continuity and confidence to score goals. Remy is not getting that here. Tells you everything you need to know, sadly.
-
That's Mourinho's fault, tbh. I was crying for Hazard to be rested in December, and it never came. He also hardly ever gets hurt or suspended, so the temptation to play him every time is there, but it's bad management in my eyes. http://www.whoscored.com/Regions/252/Tournaments/2/Seasons/4311/Stages/9155/PlayerStatistics/England-Premier-League-2014-2015 That's Whoscored.com and you can see the amount of mins that all Premier league players have played this season with 2250 being the maximum amount of possible minutes after 25 games. All of the players that have managed that are Goalkeepers obviously and defenders. There are hardly any forward players that come close to that, and the few ones that do aren't playing in Europe. Hazard has played 2211 of those mins. Add that to the amount of mins in the Champions league as well, and that's bordering on the careless from Jose, especially as this same player has gotten injured twice now with us at the crucial stage of the last two seasons. It might cost us missing out on our objectives again if he gets injured, and Jose will have only himself to blame because Mourinho obviously knows about the excessive minutes he's played.
-
Just to add to what Barbara wrote. The Hazard/rest thing is getting out of hand. I just checked the stats. He's played 2211 mins this season, the most of any Chelsea player except Terry and Ivanovic and the difference is between them and Hazard is only 39 mins! For comparison, Matic has played 2160 mins, Fabregas has played 1871 mins, Costa has played 1603 mins, and both Willian and Oscar have played 1602 and 1588 mins respectively. Why doesn't Mourinho ever consider resting Hazard? Doesn't he know he has gotten injured at the critical stages of the last two seasons and that those sort of mins are beyond excessive for an attacking midfielder? No wonder he is under-hitting passes more and more in the last few matches. Mourinho needs to manage his players better. I was crying for Hazard to be rested during December, but he never was.
-
Just to add, Hazard's pass completion is actually HIGHER than Fabregas' this season. That's insane considering the position he plays, his style of play, and that of Fabregas as well. Hazard is averaging 87.6% pass completion rate. Fabregas is averaging 86.9% pass completion rate. For context, Oscar is averaging 83.3% pass completion rate which is the worst of any of our midfielders. Let that sink in. The reason people like myself and Skipper criticize Oscar is that he's just not THAT good. If he ever reaches the current level of the likes of Matic, Hazard and Fabregas, then maybe we'll tend to look the other way more when he has a poor performance.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ To continue my post, BT Sport literally talked about this for at least 30 mins after the game. We see Sky doing the same thing to us. van Persie's elbow wasn't spoken on by Sky. Everyone has forgotten about it already. Has anyone noticed the absolutely insane double standard this season especially? I know they normally don't like us, but what's happening this season is very pronounced and very odd. And don't get me started on penalties. We apparently are not allowed to win penalties any longer. Last season was bad, but this season is even worse. I hope I'm just reading too much into it, and there's no underlying campaign against us. When Mourinho came out and used that word, he was roundly mocked by the press, but there was a lot of truth there. I just hope we aren't paying for some of Jose's post match comments last season. Or maybe it's something else. http://www.oneworldsports.com/stories/jose-mourinhos-silence-speaks-out-efa That's Duncan Castles' article on how the FA are trying to milk their cash cow even more by keeping "competitive".
-
If I was in his shoes, I swear to god, I won't be able to keep my composure with that Ivanovic question after all the shit they've given us this season. This is what I hate most about English football. It's even worse than Spain. That and the obvious bias from people like Owen when they're doing the commentary for their favourite clubs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuk_SXhl0_U Just to add something, Mourinho said, "One more question about Ivanovic and I'll leave", but BT Sport were to ashamed to put that in the original video and edited it out. It's remains to be confirmed if Mourinho walked out or not. Now, notice how BT Sport are goading Martinez to speak on the Ivanovic incident. He's of course all too happy to oblige them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Scx-rsnZ28 This is the Ivanovic headbutt, by the way. https://vine.co/v/OPuluv2e3x9 Barely a headbutt, no different from stuff we see in other games when its late in a game and a decision goes the other way. It looks like Ivanovic is trying to restrain the Everton player from someone.

He wanted Willian to hear the reception, obviously. The game was already done by then. You seriously can't criticize him for that...... surely, no?
-
He's delivered only two good crosses all season. One vs Liverpool and one vs Aston Villa. He looked uncomfortable on both occasions trying to do it with his weaker foot. Outside of the boot vs Liverpool and very scrappy vs Villa. I'm not knocking him as a player, but he offers us nothing there offensively. That much is obvious.
-
It's normal that Hazard always has to do "more" than his teammates. It's harsh, but that's the gift and curse of having so much natural talent. You know "tall trees catch the most wind" "to those who much is given, much is required" and all that. It's the same with Messi at Barcelona, reading their forums. I personally thought he had a good, if not exceptional game today. He did all he could vs a parked bus. He showed desire. Can't ask for anything more.

This is the blatant penalty that wasn't given. How is this NOT given? http://gfycat.com/LongIdioticAardwolf
