He played yesterday, so it clearly didn't have much effect. Bigger players in recent years have handed in transfer request, been rebuffed & stayed. Chelsea hold all the cards as of now.
It's astonishing tbh. He's getting close to Mikel numbers & that just isn't acceptable. Not to mention the potential ban we could be facing. Roman either has to invest properly or give youth a proper chance (Mount, James, Tammy, etc).
He's the cheapest option on the market for their needs. Barca just spent €75m+ for a 19 year old and Bayern don't work that way. The move makes logical sense for them. They aren't going to match it with the big boys, so this is the next best thing. Quite straightforward
Sarri said multiple times that he was lacking on the tactical front. I have no qualms about him wanting to move but rather the manner in which he's forcing things midseason. He ain't starting for Bayern against Liverpool, so wait till the summer and he can take the place he's lined up for.
What did Sarri say? I agree that he should have been given game time more often this season, but he's 18 & seemingly unwilling to fight for his place after 6 months. Him being a youth product makes things 1000x worse IMO. Shows little interest in the club
What use is having someone in our squad that doesn't want to stay? Only players that want to fight for the badge should be at the club. Quite shocking considering he's a youth product, too.
We didn't score, though. Fielding a false nine again could result in a tight game rather than one we should be more than able to win by two clear goals, due to their absentees.
