  1. Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay: "We are always looking to strengthen the team and there could be one, maybe two, but we are looking at a couple maybe going out on loan to continue their development as we have a fairly big squad. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8896334/?utm_source=skytvbetfeed&utm_medium=twitter - So, it's obvious that Mourinho is looking to strengthen the team, even after signing Eto'o. My guess is that he wants another striker and of course, a central midfielder (De Rossi). The striker-question depends on if he can sell/loan out Torres and Ba. Just 3-4 days until transfer-window shuts. I was thinking we could discuss these final days here. Who comes, who goes? My dream would be if we got De Rossi. And with a bit of luck, why not buy Jackson Martinez, if Mourinho can sell/loan out both Torres and Ba. I know it's not a likely scenario, but hey, let me dream:).
  2. Of course there was better options for Chelsea earlier this summer, especially long term options. BUT I think Eto'o is a great short term solution. He's still a world class striker, and with Mourinho as a coach, there's no doubt he will get 100% out of Eto'o and his qualities. Eto'o is also the type of striker we need IMO. Box player, scores a lot of goals. He needs players who sets him up, and with our midfield he will enjoy every minute. Great short term solution IMO, then next summer, we can go all in on a "long term" striker. Cavani, Falcao, and so on. Eto'o, Lukaku and Torres, gives us great quality in attack, especially if Lukaku develops the way w all hope. We will be deadly.
  3. Willian is a player that performs best right behind the striker, #10 position. I think Mourinho sees it this way: --------------------Lukaku/Torres/Rooney*-------------------- Hazard / Schurrle - Oscar / Willian - Mata / De Bruyne Moses loaned out. Of course, several players are very mobile and can play almost everywhere on that offensive midfield. But that's not a bad thing. Mourinho is also the king of rotations and he is very good at keeping everyone happy, even if they aren't playing regularly. This is what it takes if you want to have a squad who can win the treble. Only problem now is the striker position. But, no way Mourinho won't reinforce here. Rooney or why not Jackson, could be signed soon. A bonus-buy would be a central midfielder (De Rossi), but that's not a "must" like a new striker. Strikers: Rooney/Lukaku/Torres RW: Mata/De Bruyne LW: Hazard/Scurrle AM: Oscar/Willian This offensive set-up would be world class. Second best in the world, just behind Bayern. Or maybe the best.
  4. Rooney/Jackson and De Rossi now, if you are allowed to dream, would make us untouchable.
