the wes 7,212
Nicolas Anelka insists his partnership with Didier Drogba can work and hopes Luiz Felipe Scolari will give them the chance to team up. The 29-year-old has impressed as a lone striker this season in the absence of the injured Drogba, leading to more claims that the pair can't play together in the same team. Avram Grant chose to play Anelka out wide and Drogba as the lone frontman for spells last season, but the former Bolton and Arsenal striker feels there is no reason why the can't link up. Speaking about his own form, Anelka admitted: "Personally, I missed a few good opportunities to score and I could have done better. "But it is not secret that I play better alongside another striker, particularly with Didier Drogba in a 4-4-2. "Hopefully I'll have some more chances do so." He added: "What we did at Stamford Bridge (against Manchester United) showed our courage and togetherness as a team. "We fought for everything, but I think we were a bit tired and we really missed Deco."
pablo814 1
I have been saying for a long time we need to try a 4-1-2-1-2. Mikel holding, play Cole and Kalou/malouda on the wings, deco/lamps up, and drogs and anelka/kalou up front.
BlueLion. 21,491
It would work when we're chasing the game I think, but I like the way the 4-1-4-1 works.
