QPR's Mancienne backed for big Chelsea future

Chelsea academy coach Eddie Newton has indicated defender Michael Mancienne has a future at Stamford Bridge. Mancienne is currently on-loan at QPR and Newton said: "He is a quality defender.

"I feel he's ready to train day-in day-out with the stars and develop in training. He can get some games under his belt.

"When the time comes, maybe due to injuries or suspensions, he'll be able to step in and do a good job."
