  1. Maybe afford the others the respect you want for yourselves. That's a good way of looking at things.
  2. By your response you seem to care alot.
  3. You don't even own your club pal. An american owns it. Your club is the play thing of bored billionaires. Calm down.
  4. Rui Costa when Chelsea first aproached: We don't want to sell the player but if you activate the release clause there's nothing we can do. Chelsea: ok we offer 80M. Rui Costa: We don't want to sell the player but if you activate the release clause there's nothing we can do. Chelsea one day before the closing of the market and leaving Benfica with almost no time to find a replacement: Ok we pay 120M in 6 installments. Rui Costa: We don't want to sell the player but if you activate the release clause there's nothing we can do. Benfica has always stated the same. As if Rui Costa wants attention, he just want you guys to go away. The entitlement of most of your supporters is hilarious.
  5. Nothing that comes out on this rag is to be trusted. Yesterday he would leave for sure and today is staying but actually nothing has changed besides they maybe managed to dupe some fools into buying a few more papers.
  6. "No means no" "Rui Costa remains inflexible, Enzo only for the release clause" "Chelsea offers 100m euros plus players" Told you guys this newspaper is a rag. Also I call bullshit on that last statement, Chelsea has not made any new offers.
  7. Again nothing is impossible, but as I stated Record is a rag. I don't think we will even sit down to talk right now. Unless Chelsea can pay the release clause up front he's staying.
  8. We will for sure sell him in the summer if nothing out of the ordinary happens and almost certainly by a cheaper price that we are asking for right now. So from our perspective that would be an amazing deal. I just don't see the point for you guys. Makes no sense to pay that kind of money and wait until the summer for the player.
  9. Record is a journalistic rag that has no credibility whatsoever. They just asked some random "football agent" and plastered it in the front cover so they could sell a few more units. There's even a lower chance that we sell them now than before. We already bought 3 players and that fills the 3 registration slots available for the champions league. Never say never but I think it's almost impossible that he goes in this transfer window.
  10. It wasn't made from going back on our word and then manipulating a 21 year old to miss practices so the club has to sell him at a cheaper prince. Thats scumbag behavior.
  11. You can see him as whatever you want. All we want if he's not too much to ask is that maybe the Chelsea representatives can try not to behave like scumbags.
  12. That could make sense but it's now a matter of principle. If you ask 100 Benfica fans right now if we should sell one cent bellow the release clause price tag 99 will say not to sell. I can see us in the summer window being open to that kind of a transfer, also because 25% of the money of the sale will go to River Plate, so including a player or two wouldn't be bad for us.
  13. That's where we differ. I don't think that's how transfer market work. I don't think it's normal behavior to say to the seller that you will meet the asking price and then after negotiating with the player to low ball an offer and use the player and his agent to pressure us to sell cheaper than initially agreed. Also, if Enzo finishes the season the way he started many clubs will come to the table for him. You talk about him like he's some fringe player that Chelsea found out and has no interest from anywhere else in the market. Lot's of clubs asked about him already but when they heard we weren't selling bellow the 120M release clause they did the right thing and pulled out. Strange that "this is how the market works" but Chelsea was the only club acting poorly in this situation.
  14. Thank you. That's exactly it. Benfica last president always put our success on the pitch second to making big sales and because of that even though we are the richest club in Portugal we haven't won a single trophy in more than 3 years. Rui Costa took the job about a year ago and he promissed that the club number one priority from then on would be to win silverware. We are not cheating or playing hardball with anyone. The plan was to buy a couple more players in January and really make a push for the title and try to make it as far as possible in the champions league. We really don't want to sell. Rui Costa even offered to pay Enzo a few more million euros so he would stay until the end of the season. Only when Enzo refused and stated that he really wanted to go did Rui Costa agreed to negotiate a payment structure, thats it, selling him for under the value of the release clause was never an option. I feel bad for Enzo, because he seems like a good kid, but when you wave tens of millions in front of him anyone would be tempted. I believe that if he stays he'll get some pushback from the fans but in the long run we will forgive him and support him because he's a baller.
  15. 130M is also 1/6 of your full team valuation on TM. So what does that even matter? The seller sets the price. No one is "mugging" Chelsea or taking advantage of Chelsea. The only people that were not up to board on this entire situation were the Chelsea representatives. They knew the conditions coming in and tried to put pressure on us through the player and his agent. You seem to take it personally that we said no to you. Just because your owner is a billionaire it doesn'tmake you entitled to get every player you want for the price you want. You may be poorer but we also have the right to do whats best for our club.
  16. First of all you are not well informed about our transfer history at all. Secondly we don't need to sell our best players in the January window. We are not owned by an american billionaire like Chelsea but our finances are solid. The player has signed a contract until 2027, so we have all the leverage in the world. Just making into the group stages of the champions league is worth 50M euros for us, so there you go, why would we let one of our best players and a crucial player for our style of play and risk ruining the rest of the season for a "good deal", makes no sense. The world doesn't revolve around your club.
  17. Once again no one tried "to mug" you. We don't want to sell the player in the January window when we are 5 points clear at the top of the league and qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League. I repeat "We don't want to sell". So when Chelsea aproached us we stated that. The only way we would release him was if Chelsea paid the release clause, that was stated clearly from the beggining, Rui Costa was open to negotiate only a payment structure, That's because the player wanted to leave and if the value of the release clause was met Benfica would not get on the player's way. This is all before the disciplinary issues and the low ball offer of course, now we are even less open to negotiate. Everyone should just move on. What's hilarious is you claiming that Benfica is the club acting in bad faith in this situation. It's beyond delusional.
  18. No. It normally doesn't work like that. You told Benfica and the player you were willing to reach the value of the release clause then agreed terms with the player and surely had a hand on his recent disciplinary issues. Only to then go back on your word and try to lowball us thinking the pressure being placed upon us by the player and his agent would make us fold. Well it didn't work.
  19. It's business in the same way Donald Trump was presidential.
  20. I'm in awe of your entitlement. Did Benfica contact Chelsea to sell Enzo or was it the other way around? Benfica is a football club and we want to win silverware, that's it. Your club knew the conditions of the deal upfront. Imagine being outraged because a club doesn't want to sell one of his best players in the January window bellow the release clause. Delusional.
