  1. Congrats but not at all happy with the pen. Just because the TV pundits didn't really analyse it doesn't change the fact, if you watch it, that Hazard actually made the challenge on Vargas, not the other way around, he moved towards Vargas, who put the shoulder out to meet the challenge, Hazard (smaller guy, looking for something because he was boxed off between two defenders on the edge of the area) goes sprawling in the area. The actual contact was on the edge of the area by the way. A very soft penalty, that if it was being given for 'a shoulder' (sad state of modern game) could just as easily have been given to Vargas. Top of the table sides tend to get given these over lower teams, especially at home. No way was that ever given to us at the other end. Chelsea gifted the 3 points. Being on top means nothing if not scoring, especially not creating clear chances. We deserved something from the game. See y'all in the warm welcome of LR
  2. Our away form is the most significant reason I can't see us competing here today. We haven't competed in any away game so far
  3. Greetings oh nearest & dearest. Well, not 'dearest' anymore.....(let's all laugh at Scousers) If I was to say I'm really 'looking forward' to this I'd be lying. I'm dreading it, the revenge aspect cannot be overstated. This could well be a serious spanking, based on our creaking central defence (lack of pace specifically) & your obvious quality and overall form. But when so little is expected then at least the build-up can be savoured! With both teams' more current form it's possible this could be a bit of a battle. But when did form ever matter in derby games? We have a habit of being either the whipping boys for a new signing at another club, or else the return of a star player from absence. I hate clichées and predictability so that would be my most prominent fear as regards who might make this potential battle more of a routine result for Chelsea. The other major factor is JM. He loves anything that brings a bit extra to a game. So local rivalry, revenge factor, 'Arry (finally off his rocking chair) on the sideline etc will be right up his street. He will relish this. On another note, you lot must be sadly bereft seeing poor old Foolham languishing so lowly in The Championship. With ourselves looking likely to join them (if they aren't in League 1) next season, will you be praying for Brentford to go up, for some local spice?
  4. Noisy neighbour here to join in the chat. Really looking forward to the game at The Bridge. Well, 'looking forward to' might be stretching it a bit! Certainly a great start to the season for you lot and poles apart for us. But that's the beauty of derby games, it can be tight like 2 years ago. I would expect Chelsea to be ready this time, revenge on the cards with an extra helping on top. Our home form is the only bright spark, or should that be smoking ash? Anyway, looking forward to the match thread.
