We Hate Scouse 10,327
We would be able to expand if there was another exit from the ground. At the moment there are only 2 exits which both lead to Fulham Road. The club, particularly under Kenyon tried to gain planning permission to build a bridge into Brompton cemetery but because it is a Royal Park it was refused by the council. In addition, we have tried to gain permission to build a bridge/tunnel from behind the Matthew Harding Stand to West Brompton station but this was too costly and complicated. If we were to expand the tour guide on the stadium tour said it would be through building a third tier on the Matthew Harding stand. If we did this we would have to demolish the houses behind the stadium because they would not get enough sunlight. It is very very difficult to expand Stamford Bridge.Wrong. The club has never contacted the council regarding planning permission. They made that very clear. This is because they haven't found a cost effective way to expand Stamford Bridge. They wanted to renovate it and Ken Bates offered to put money towards it if they built a bridge over the railway, but they said no.

CFC_Dave 0
Can't see it happening, but I'd be gutted if we moved. We wouldn't fill a 60,000 seater stadium. I think we'd struggle with 50 atm. Surely they don't think we'll sell out every game with the prices they are charging now?!

I couldn't see prices going down at a new stadium either

Term-X 7,891
American sites that add 'soccer' stadiums to a 'best sports venue' list, never get it right. They ranked Barcelona's Camp Nou lower than some tiny american baseball ground... smh. I think an Aussie wrote it. They put AAMI park in there and I can tell you now that place is not worth even being on the list.. It may be new but it lacks supporter passion and atmosphere.. The best stadiums in Australia are a packed MCG, suncorp stadium and the Sydney football stadium..

Just a quick question are you a Maroon or a Blue or neither? The problem with Old Trafford is that it is full of Mancs.

You can smell it from the bleachers. The #3,2,1 on this list is hilarious. Apparently, the three best venues in sports all reside within about 200 miles in the upper Midwest of the United States, and two of them are in Chicago. The only one worth mentioning is Lambeau, but it needs to be at the back end of the top ten. Just noticed Ibrox ahead of Wembley and Stade Louis II in the top ten . What kind of list is this? Stupid Yanks.
