A lot of Portuguese journalist said the same, thats why i never wanted him here, especially at that price. Many people on this site raved about him though, calling him the next big thing... I know he's young and can improve, but will he ever be £32 million worth? doubt it.

In a market that has seen transfer fees go up drastically over the past 3 years? He definitely will.

Mangala has the raw qualifies and Vidic struggled at the start in the PL aswell, I think he will be ok, im finding his current form amusing mind purely because of the wankfest his display against us caused.

Fernando on the other hand looks like another Paulinho, the definition of average.

Do you guys think Fernando is even better than Fernandinho?

Fernandinho is alot better. They havent brought Fernando to replace Fernandinho, they got him to replace Garcia. Some people i heard are a bit ignorant to think they are the same players because of their look and name, but Fernandinho is much more techniqal and creative, and Fernando is more a "real DM", a donkey you can say. But he's good at this i think.

Are you forgetting FFP? Unless the likes of United, Real and Barca buy him i'll doubt any other team will spend so much on a defender.

No, I'm not forgetting it at all.

The concept of the FFP itself is flawed in many way. For example, what does the FFP in a circle market mean? If top teams like us earn money from selling players and we go out to splash that money on at least one new player at least one other club will have the funds to buy a player of equal $€£ value which will lead to another more club having money for transfers. If one team team decides to spend more than a player A is worth at least one team will have more money than they expected they would get. Said team goes out shopping and et voila, they'll have to pay a fortune for a player B since his team wouldn't want to let him go for a smaller sum than player A's. I reckon we'll see at least another CB being dealt for more money than Mangala and he won't necessarily be any better than him; quote me if it doesn't happen.

We've seen what has happened over the past few years. Hazard cost us 32m, one a couple of years later Özil went for 45m, then another year later James was bought for over 60m. That's the inflation of the market. As long as money is floathing around Europe's top leagues the sums won't be an object.

*player A and player B have a similar/the same value

Fernandinho is another that's gone off the boil, ever since he produced for me one off the worse midfield performance I have ever seen against Germany his confidence has looked shot to pieces.

The whole City teams is way below average right now, but that's football and they will be back sooner rather than later.

I think they will drop points against United and us beating QPR can put some more daylight between us.

Steve G :

“I would love a Fabregas or Costa here, but I have to understand how the owners want to do it and accept I am a Liverpool player, not a Chelsea or Manchester City player".

Mourinho revelled in stopping the Liverpool title charge, suggesting his players were meant to be ‘clowns’ on that fateful day at Anfield.

“I’m a big fan of his. I understand and respect he loves winning and will do anything to get the win,” Gerrard said.

“I won’t be retiring this summer,” he says. “I will play beyond this season. We will have to wait and see if that’s at Liverpool or somewhere else. That’s Liverpool’s decision.”
