We can't let our good start get to our heads. Remember under RDM? We were 7 points clear at the top a few games into the season.

I refuse to talk about our title chances before January; not before our usual "winter slump".

I even remember on MOTD when Shearer said we play like Barcelona  Did we have any defensive discipline in that team? i never forget when Atletico, City, Shakter and Juventus all played us of the park.

Funnily enough, the winter period didn't cost us the title last season but rather the matches before a Champions League tie.

Defensive discipline? Our defending literally started at the edge of our own penalty box!

Fun times... :P

We still had that period in November where we had a run of bad results and dropping points, even though, in terms of fixtures, that was supposed to be the easiest period for us.

Decent return when conceding first..

Think that says more about the type of teams that we concede first against than about our character as a team.

More pertinent point, imo, is that we should not have shipped a lead in 27 league games in 2 years.

To be fair, it's actually more than 27 league games (around 35 maybe?) if we are looking solely at conceding first. Definitely agree that we should not have found ourselves too many times in those situations but still can't disregard the comeback spirit shown.

Yes but compared to the winter period in the seasons before, last season was an improvement. Between November and December, we only pathetically failed to win 3 games against the so called lesser sides - Newcastle, West Brom and Stoke. It's only the situation with the cup games that made it looked worse - the defeats to Basel and Sunderland.

Think that says more about the type of teams that we concede first against than about our character as a team.

I do agree that 27 (or rather around 35) is a lot but conceding first happens in football and when that's the case, you can't disregard about the team's character to come from behind and rescue a point or all 3. I mean don't we all rejoice when we fight back to win a game or at least earn a draw? Don't we always say that there are no easy teams to play against in the league? You can look at the type of teams that we conceded first against or look at the state of our defending as unit, especially two seasons ago. Can't just have it one way.

I like the part that clubs may be able to buy and obtain visa for any player as long as their transfer fee is higher than 10-15m. That'll allow us to buy from South America directly.

Felix Magath is really having an absolute nightmare at Fulham, isn't he?

2-0 down at Nottingham Forest earlier, then went 3-2 up before collapsing in the last 13 minutes to lose 5-3.

Bottom of the Championship with just 1 point from 7 games. A goner soon really.

Yeah fuck this analytical "clever', oooh look at me type posts.

Dumbing down from now on, a cheap pun, or just 'Rooney is a cunt' type posts is the way forward

@SwearSportsNews

Yup that's the new thing.

"Welbeck was sold because he was a diabolical shit footballer." :D
