lets look at sturridge's stats for us for 2012-13

dint start the super cup - make on as a sub

dint start the community shield - make on a sub

started 1 match in the CC - scored a goal.

dint start any match in CL, made 2 sub appearances,

started 1 match in PL (that too as a RW), and made 6 apperances - scoring 1 goal against tottenham (and i still remember FT being on the pitch so even that match he came on as a RW like others)

so over the course of half a season, a player gets 2 starts 10 substitutes and the majority of those appearances were out of position and yet u somehow have formed an opinion that he was MISFIRING!!! truly strange.

its good to have opinions but they must be logical at the least. if i say messi and CR are pathetic footballers and thats my opinion, then it just makes me an idiot, right???

By pulling out those stats you just proved my statement - he was a reserve player who didn't make an impact on his chances, therefore he was not good enough for Chelsea and was sold.

Apparently Nicola Cortese has resigned as chairman of Southampton. Pochettino said he'd leave is Cortese does, he's currently 5/4 to leave.

Posted it in the Shaw's thread. Would certainly be interesting and see how it affect things there - transfer activities being one.

hahahahah... okay dude... or he was always "injured"... remember how he was injured since RAFA came in. he remained injured until 1st jan and as soon as the transfer happened, he got perfectly fit to play and score goals... does not look at all fishy to me.

but ya keep on believing in whatever u wanna believe.

I don't know why you bother talking with different level, a player who was our top scorer in the League the previous season while playing out of position - didn't make an impact or take his chances.

Torres hasn't managed to be top scorer in the League despite starting the majority of matches in his preferred position 3 seasons in a row. Torres would probably be happy to score over 10 goals in the League in a season at this point.

It makes the feeling of disappointment reduced when it eventually happens

Yeah but it also inhibits the joy when thing turn out good eventually. When we played the CL final i was so worried about a defeat in pnealty shoot-out because of moscow, I needed hours to really understand that we had done it..

You are entitled to your opinion and I don't have a problem with that :) I didn't want to turn this into a Sturridge debate as I've had a few in the past and pretty much everything has been said. Just pointed out that IMO you could find some similarities between him and Ba in their time here. On the Sturridge topic - you can make whatever you like of his unfulfilled past and hypothetical future with Chelsea.

....

Oh, hey, scouser. How have you been? :)

never argued with BA and sturridge not having a similar pattern in their time "not in chelsea".

like i argued before, it was their time in chelsea which was different. BA started 17 games for us 6 goals, sturridge started 2 games for us scoring 2 goals and both had exactly the span of half a season each. which is a MASSIVE DIFFERENCE. the other thing which ticked me off is "MISFIRING", a striker that starts 2 matches in half a season, scores a goal in his only start as a ST in that too and is still considered to be misfiring. on what basis exactly???

anyways as u said, every1 is entitled to their opinion.

must be nice having all those strikers that can put the ball in the net

if City don't win the title, it would be a sensational failure on their part

going for 4 trophies often leads to disapoointments ,,,we can only hope so ,,,

CITY recognised GOALS win games and got the Strikers
