They're useless, they just guess. 1 minute in the first half and 4 in the 2nd. The best i ever saw though was 1 at the end of the 2nd half when we knocked Arsenal out the UCL in '04. Ok it wasn't english officials but i will never forget that moment the 4th official put "1"

In rugby they only stop the clock for long stoppages not when the ball goes out of play. In football if the clock was stopped each time the

ball went out of play games would last almost FOUR hours

Exactly. The way I see it, there are two decent ways to do it. 1) As you mention, just stopping the clock every time there is a significant stoppage or 2) Having an official whose job it is to calculate that time (basically stopping and starting a stop-watch whenever there is a delay) and then giving that amount of time as extra time. The current system just makes no sense.

Yeah does pretty much seem to always be that amount.Surprising when there is a time when injury time is shown and you dont think eh!!Where they get that time from?!

The Mail on Sunday has published a 'diving chart' based on the number of PL bookings for simulation since the beginning of last season.

Liverpool - 6

Chelsea - 4

City, Spurs & West Brom -2

Arsenal, Villa, Bolton, Norwich, Sunderland, Wigan & Wolves - 1

Interesting that, despite the antics of Young, Welbeck, etc, no United player has been booked for diving. Wonder why?"

If you wish to get the diving stats for United, look at their penalties

Can already think of 4-5. Evra, Welbeck(both against us last season), Young(against Villa) and the recent one where Welbeck dived against Wigan.

Not sure if anyone have come across this but here's what Gerrard said just days ago on haven't being able to win the league title.

There is no two ways about it, if there was no Roman Abramovich or the guy [sheikh Mansour] who bought Manchester City I'd have two or three league titles sitting here now.

Typical pure delusion by someone from Liverpool.

He seems to forget that Arsenal and Manchester United exist. He is a fool, he almost joined Chelsea but pulled out at the last minute not for love of Liverpool but for the safety of his family. I've met Liverpool supporters that have admitted the only reason Gerrard is still there is because of all the death threats he and his family received when it looked like he was leaving. Besides he forgets all the cash they have wasted on players, money does buy power Mr Gerrard but only if you spend it wisely.

Precisely. And think he also forget that Liverpool's results against lesser sides tend to be very average too.

Stevie G= Clown.

He stayed at the Dipperdome so he could remain a Big fish in a little pond

If he'd had the balls like Fernando and signed for Chelsea he would have been another fish in MASSIVE pond

and won 2 Premiership Titles, a Champions League medal and the chance of more 4 FA Cup Winners and 2 League Cup Winners medal

Yes good decision Stevie to stay at the Dipperdome....nice one loser :dance:blue%20scalf.gif
