The positive side is that RDM has had plently of time to analyse what went wrong against Athletico. The worst time for a result like that is when the games are coming thick and fast, managers don't have an opportunity to take a step back.

But that can also lead to him renewing his faith in the players that underperformed. If our next game was 3 or 4 days after the Super Cup he would have certainly dropped them, it's not necessarily the case now.

Yeah right. Real Madrid pulled out of the race very early on because Florentino Perez didn't sanction the move for a player that old and we preferred Azpilicueta in the end, because Maicon's wage demand was reported to be too high and there was also a dispute about the length of the contract. On deadline day Manchester City was definitely the only option for Maicon if he wanted to leave Inter and now they're making it look like he somehow chose Man City over us and Real Madrid. For countless of reasons I'm very glad we signed Azpilicueta instead of this guy and I'm sure most Chelsea fans agree with me so comments like that coming from Maicon's agent are nothing short of ridiculous.

He rejected us, Madrid and PSG but the headline chose to focus on us only. Typical English media.

Maicon is already aging and on the decline. As you said, glad that we got Azpilicueta. Way younger and can very much be a quality RB at the club for many years to come.

Van Persie injured? Has thigh problems.

That would be something if both Rooney and RVP were injured at the same time. Plus, once RVP gets injured, he seems to never recover.

Hopefully his leg falls off and he can never play football again. :Goober:
