Cesc was a different kind of genius. When you watch Pogba play, you see how long he takes to play a pass. Cesc got the ball and immediately played a fabrepass. Pogba can only play good passes when you give him a lot of space and time to play those passes. Cesc was different.

Fabregas is definitely better passer but pogba trump him in almost any other category as attacking cm. Pogba has Excellent long shot, can hold the ball, can dribble past player, and plus he has height and athleticism.

Defensively they are about the same Fabregas is actually pretty good in term of positioning but that doesn't matter if you are that slow, you will always struggle to cover ground. Pogba on the other hand simply does not play with enough concentration to be a good defensively.

The younger Fabregas would like to have a word with you...

Think you're underestimating Fabregas' qualities, especially over the course of his career. When he was younger, he certainly was someone who could bomb forward, dribble past players, score goals, be decisive etc on top of his excellent passing range.

And the thing or problem with Pogba is we can talk about him having quality X, Y, Z but what he doesn't have is the winning mentality, the determination and consistency to succeed and win (Fabregas certainly has that mindset). He's 27 years old now, should be in his peak or entering his best years but what has he done for United? Practically nothing for someone that is being lauded as (supposedly) one of the best midfielders around. When people talk that about Pogba these days, I feel like they are talking about the Pogba at Juventus as opposed to the one at Man United and he left Juventus 4 years ago.

I wouldnt swap 1 hair of Fab to 10 Pogba's.....just an average player that somehow has that WC tag on him. He only has to pass the ball or score a goal and the wank begins. Overrated as fuck is what he is.

WHat the fuck has happened with punishing divers? Where are yellow cards? Retroepective bans? Media outrage? What a bent league this has become

at the same time blatant WWE excurses like frankenstein's on Azpi go unpunished. English football and football in general is sadly going down the drain. european super league will be the final nail in the coffin.

Exactly why its bent, their darlings get goodies so often yet other teams suffer, I dont care whom is the ref, the rules are the same yet the outcome is different every bloody time.

The younger Fabregas never won epl. The one that we had has lost most of his speed.

I personally think Pogba is still one of the best midfielder around. But like most player, it is about team system and player around you.

So? Has the current Pogba won a Premier League?

But doesn't play like one. There really is no point in having quality X, Y, Z if the player doesn't have the mentality to succeed and perform consistently week in week out. Having quality is one thing but having the right mentality is what separates the best from the average ones.

That's a bit of a cheap cop-out. If the player is performing to his absolute best but the team around him is failing, then sure but that's not the case with Pogba, is it? He has been at Man United for 4 years, played under 3 different managers but has not been consistent at all for someone of his status. And it's not like he has been played out of position - like on the flanks for example - either.

He really isnt my friend, he has been in manc land for 5 years, what has he done? Its only because he is udt player that he doesnt get ripped to pieces every week, he has to be the most failed transfer in recent memory, 89m and we have seen nothing.

Absolute filth, imagine it was JT, I mean fuck he would have been banned from UK. But this lovely fella named Giggs shags his brothers wife, makes threats that he will sue anyone talking about it on social media, beats his lady up and I have seen no media outrage.....Eng media can go spit. Infact he is closer to getting sports personality of the year award....fucking coward of a cunt.

DEMBA, BAH!

Demba Ba wheels away, still in a state of relative bewilderment.

The Fiver is acutely aware that we’ve been yammering on a bit too much recently about Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjær and Frank O’Farrell and Herbert Bamlett’s 12 defeats in a row in 1930 and all that. Sorry. But just look! What can you do? Ten players in the attacking third, your £80m central defender at the far post waiting for a ball from a £50m right-back who can’t cross, your left-back on the right-hand corner of Istanbul Basaksehir’s six-yard box, and your last man, who at the best of times moves around the pitch with the speed, power and athletic grace of Withnail, loitering 20 yards inside the opponents’ half. Just look!

Hats off to Ole, though, because nobody ever thought it possible to make Kevin Keegan look like the freak result of an overly ambitious genetic experiment utilising the genes of Karl Rappan, Helenio Herrera and Otto Rehhagel. But he’s managed it. Nobody thought Demba Ba would ever score a funnier, more gut-clenching and trouser-bothering goal than the one involving $tevie Mbe, either, but here we are in the laundrette again. It’s one hell of an achievement. “It is my responsibility,” Ole says, perhaps unwisely drawing attention to himself during a week which has seen Mauricio Pochettino popping up on telly.

Former captain Rio Ferdinand was also on the box, telling the tens who regularly tune in to BT Sport that such was the absurdity of the lapse, it should lead to fisticuffs in the dressing room, preferably instigated by the manager. We paraphrase, but only slightly, we’re really not using much artistic licence here. Asked whether United’s abysmal form might cost him the gig, Solskjær declined to comment. “You have to stay strong. I’m employed to do a job by the club and I do it to the best of my ability.” Again, given the circumstances, not the smartest choice of words, and unless his team showcase a coherent strategy against Everton this Saturday, finally, at the 102nd time of asking, he could be out the door. Should the worst happen, he’d become the first United manager to leave without any silverware whatsoever since the aforementioned O’Farrell. The oft-referenced Bamlett didn’t win anything either. Apologies yet again, but what can you do?
